Thank goodness Nigel was there to warn us all about all those foreigners with aids coming over here.

So you think health tourism is acceptable? You think that people that NHS resource should go to non Britons?

No I think that Nigel is racist scum.

Now I know we're winning the argument... when all else fails play the race card!

You jest, but Nigel was right.

The EU (or common market) worked in it's original format where countries of roughly equal economies banded together for commerce on preferential terms.

Inviting Greece Romania etc to join was bound to upset the apple cart because their economies are/were weaker and it was inevitable that people would migrate to where the money is.

The NHS debate is about finance. Letting foreigners get free treatment is costing 2 billion pounds a year.

The other parties squabble over how we are going to sustain the NHS but ignore this inconvenient truth because it suits their "moral" stance.

Moral my arse, they want votes.

Not only that.... a good proportion of people arriving at A&E have injuries that have been caused directly or in-directly by too much alcohol.

We should charge people for treatment who have deliberately got sh!tfaced and caused themselves or others injury.

That's what happens in Spain/Greece. Brits have to pay for treatment if they are drunk as their travel insurance becomes invalid.

I like the NHS to be free, but not a charity for foreign health visitors or a refuge for clumsy irresponsible drunkards.

Agreed,

Yes I agree.

That why I want OUT of the EU but that is another debate !
All those who want OUT should vote for a Conservative government as we are the only party who could be in a position to offer that referendum.

Nice debating skills.

Farage does use the "fear of foreigners" card but unfortunately most of his claims are accurate. It is the inconvenient truth that other parties are too afraid to fully admit. On the one hand, they make a token promise to control immigration numbers knowing full well they can't and then tell us how good immigration is for us on the other.
It's political hogwash.

I was more making a comment on the ludicrous fear-rhetoric of Farage now resembling a throwback to the uber-right in 1950s America. To use your example, Greece was never in the Soviet Union, so why does he feel the need to mention certain countries' political background?

Your last point I actually wholeheartedly agree with. Migratory flow, albeit inconsistent, is always going to pursue wealth. But I would argue that that's a far more compelling case for decentralising wealth than it is for some short term blockade of migration, which will simply lead to large-scale economic depravation in poor parts of the world, and weealth stagnation in richer parts of the world where the population ages and basic labour isn't adequately staffed (as you saw in Japan about a decade ago).
