The EU (or common market) worked in it's original format where countries of roughly equal economies banded together for commerce on preferential terms.

Inviting Greece Romania etc to join was bound to upset the apple cart because their economies are/were weaker and it was inevitable that people would migrate to where the money is.

That why I want OUT of the EU but that is another debate !
All those who want OUT should vote for a Conservative government as we are the only party who could be in a position to offer that referendum.

I was more making a comment on the ludicrous fear-rhetoric of Farage now resembling a throwback to the uber-right in 1950s America. To use your example, Greece was never in the Soviet Union, so why does he feel the need to mention certain countries' political background? Your last point I actually wholeheartedly agree with. Migratory flow, albeit inconsistent, is always going to pursue wealth. But I would argue that that's a far more compelling case for decentralising wealth than it is for some short term blockade of migration, which will simply lead to large-scale economic depravation in poor parts of the world, and weealth stagnation in richer parts of the world where the population ages and basic labour isn't adequately staffed (as you saw in Japan about a decade ago). Don't forget each speaker had a minute to make their point, so it was easier/quicker to say what he did rather than individually naming countries per se. There is also the fact that citing Romania has more of a fear factor than Greece.... and after all he was trying to make an impact as was all the leaders. The general point he made was right imo. Farage and myself are more worried about the infrastructure rather than the economic factors of immigration. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to live in Lincolnshire which is now an east European ghetto and trying to see your GP.

Which, because the economy is probably the biggest factor for me, is massively influencing my decision. I just do not trust Labour with the economy and couldn't bear having the SNP/Plaid Cymru in the cabinet. Which, because the economy is probably the biggest factor for me, is massively influencing my decision. I just do not trust Labour with the economy and couldn't bear having the SNP/Plaid Cymru in the cabinet.

I think the country on the whole has shifted right but UKIP and the Conservatives will eat at each other's support.
