Imagine actually giving a sh*t about this.

Is the correct answer.

I think it's quite interesting. You have 1000's of his fans who signed a petition before they knew what he had done and if he is going to be sacked. Now it is thought to be known what he did it will be interesting to see what the BBC does. Sack him and lose a lot of money or stand by him and lose face. If he wasn't going to sign a new contract, perhaps it doesn't matter either way.

If it is true that he reported himself to the BBC, it makes it more interesting as we wonder why he would do so if the producer (presumably) wasn't going to make a complaint.

Good piece about him and Chelsea. [Link]

It's nothing more than the ridiculous celebrity infatuation that is sweeping this country.

Bloke on TV acts like a tit & then the f*cking Prime Minister gets involved and is interviewed about it.

As I said, ridiculous.

Yeah that's a recent phenomenon isn't it. I mean it's not like we've got a load of cases where celebrity infatuation led to molestation or anything.

Bloke happens to be both mate and constituent of PM, and bloke works for national broadcaster.

The level of interest is definitely just a by-product of z list celebs & reality TV, or the most watched programme in the world. I can't decide...

Edited by Stuk (13 Mar 2015 3.55pm)

I'd rather my PM dealt with issues that concern the nation, not some middle aged mate of his who slapped someone.

You can't do both, no? He was asked a question about it and answered. He didn't initiate the Clarkson talk.

Yes, what's wrong with Cameron lending vocal support to one of his rich pals socking a pleb in the mouth because he can't get a juicy midnight steak? .

That post is almost "house" in lefty bingo.

The answer is, nothing. If you actually wanted one.

I posted it jokingly on account of how deadly serious everyone is taking this, left and right.

If there's CCTV footage we could always try to ascertain how succulent the steak that eventually did arrive looks, and from there what action should be taken.

Apart from Clarkson and May.

I'm not sure that he's some kind of perfectly emotionally balanced individual floating above it all. After all it was him punching someone in the face over a steak that started this series of events .

May seems to get the silliness of it from all quarters though yes. From the wider reaction and from Clarkson being a nob every now and again.

No one has (an idea of how seriously he took it), unless they know him. He and May have notably made light of it, Hammond has gone silent.

He presumably has more to lose, by that I mean pay for. Wife, kids, younger than the other two, less in the bank, no other current jobs/shows etc.

That's true. All of the more reason for everyone to offer some kind of minimum standard of behaviour.

Maximum of 1 punch each, per series?

Yes, and as punishment, pot noodles from now on.

Hammond has consistently tries to break away from cars and bikes into mainstream presenting but has run up against the issue he is a w@nker. Evidence, by the lack of solidarity.

2. Why do so many people think it's OK to hit anyone just because the person seems to know about cars. Would they take that from a mechanic at their local garage or at a roadside?
3. Just because you are a friend of the Prime Minister doesn't mean you get special treatment
4. If Clarkson wants to move on let him, the BBC has been around since 1922; Top Gear 1977 & Clarkson since 1988 so how important is he?

..the bloke served him cold grub! surely he must have been aware that Mr Clarkson hates cold grub!!

But they had arranged hot food in the restaurant - trouble was Clarkson, May & Hammond stayed in a pub for over 3 hours (on the licence payers!) before getting the helicopter to hotel. By the time they arrived the chef had gone home. All that was left was the cold menu

Now who's fault was that?

"'On the licence payers"??

This was in their own time and after they'd finished filming. Are you saying they claimed their pub spending against expenses?

Damm right like all employees staying away for a period of time,

Damm right like all employees staying away for a period of time,

they went to a pub.

hardly 'staying away'.

I really can't believe that 3 'blokes' who are each worth a skip-load of cash go to a pub after work, get pissed and then proceed to ask the barman for a receipt so they can claim those few jars against the tax payer. Slap-up dinner with wine, maybe. but, as we know, they never did that as 'hot dinner' (or lack of) became an issue later on.
