Why would he want to come to us though, we're not in europe. He's a european quality player who wants to get in the france team for the euros, doesn't make much sense to come here over someone like spurs, southampton, even west ham unfortunately

According to this Cabaye is on 55k a week at PSG. That's a lot for us, but surely we could stretch to that?
(Just to preempt any abuse, I don't see us as an overachieving championship team currently) Isn't Chamakh on something like 40k? Cabaye's definitely worth spending 55k p/w on, we'd have the money after this season's success. It's more a matter of would he want to join or - quite likely - is this rumour just paper talk. I expect Palace'll be linked to this pedigree of player all summer. We may be talking about another big name next week. With no manager and a bottom half finish. While they are a club with a long and sometimes successful history, right now they are no more attractive than us, other than they might pay over the odds for a player and if they keep doing that and not getting into Europe, it will only be a matter of time before they are in serious trouble.

West Ham don't have a manager. Think Cabaye's only actually been linked to us as a piece of lazy journalism. The Sun have added Pardew and 10th place together and concocted a tidy piece of bullsh*t to get clicks and sell papers. Of course, that may be wrong and we may be interested. But who knows? We'll see.

This is interesting but still nothing concrete. Great if true but The Sun is quoted. Who knows but a nice read for the speculation mill.

Talksport and The Sun are both Murdoch's but Talksport do select which stories to broadcast and they must give this some credibility - Cabaye will have bigger and better options but he may like the idea of using us a stepping stone for a year's loan, the Pardew link is significant and there has been reference to Mark Bright and other sources indicating marquee signings - this would be less of a shock than Lombardo - Parrish & co do have a vision and they know how to sell it.

They are not. Murdoch was part of the consortium that set it up but he sold his stake ten years ago
