As said before, Benteke signed with pool 22/7/15 and is possibly waiting for 22/7/16 to qualify for a loyalty bonus. So I expect a deal soon after that date. But that's just my little theory which BTW makes sense of all that has happened ie: his agent making a public comment about him seeing out his contract. I think Benteke forgot about or was unaware of his bonus when approached by Palace. Whatever, we've still got plenty of time and dosh to get players.

Perhaps he will be left to bench warm until the January Window. Should Palace be in top four at that stage his joining us will be regarded as a privilege, and a discounted price will be correct. £5M reduction might be correct. COYP There is also the thought that AP & SP will wish to enjoy the smokescreen (to do unexpected deals) that Mr Benteke is providing.
