Yes I am sympathetic to these sentiments.

I will be very surprised if Mandanda is with us next season.I really don't think he was all that impressive for us so will NOT be too concerned if in fact he does leave based on what I have seen.

I really don't think we saw enough to make a call, don't remember any mistakes (or to be fair any amazing games), how many times did he actually play?

Without knowing the reason he didn't play its impossible to judge. If he didn't want to then get shot ASAP but based on the complete lack of concrete information, he could just as easily failed a drugs test a la Berahino.

He made 10 appearances, in league/cup with his last appearance being in November.

That's a bit left-field isn't it? How'd we have kept that quiet?

I'm not saying it happened, just that its as likely as anything else when you don't have anything concrete to go by.
West Brom kept the Berahino thing quiet until they sold him then released it out of spite, even Hughes had to admit he didn't know anything about it till after they signed him. Apparently for recreational drug fails you don't have to announce it.

I think it could partly a catch 22 situation, he was homesick, then out because of injury, so not picked, which can't have helped his homesickness, put on a bit of weight maybe, wasn't picked by Sam (who didn't really seem interested in him), another knock to his confidence etc. Just stuck in a cycle, shame really I would have liked to have seen what he could do after he settled in. I think he definitely has the potential to be far better than Hennessey if he does stick around and even if he doesn't take WH's place, he'd make a good number 2 competition-wise for Hennessey, might force him to up his game.

I remember lots of people saying Benteke "couldn't be bothered" to play for us as one point, which was complete bollocks.

We could have bought Jordan Pickford for £30 mill , do you think that is good value or a reasonable purchase for CPFC? Not that he would have come but that is the going price for a promising keeper.
What goalkeeper do you have in mind that would be a top premiership keeper that makes no mistakes for around the price we got WH ?
Joe Hart ? Probably three/four times the wages WH is on and lately looks to be error prone at City and Torino.
Everybody and everyone knows we would like a better keeper but what do you suggest and how much do you want to pay ?

I would rather spend the money on Sakho if we have that much money, bearing in mind the impact he had on the team .

to be honest I don't think we need 3 x 30 year old goalkeepers. I don't think Hennessey is brilliant but I also don't think he is as bad as some of his detractors make out. Speroni is good xp cover.
Personally we should be going young and develop...perhaps we should look at taking Freddy Woodman back with the promise of starting in our League Cup games (and maybe FA Cup split with Speroni)

I'm sure I read that there were a clutch of players who failed drug tests. If they were appealing the decision then it might be possible to keep it quiet. Who would leak it? Not for one second suggesting Steve M., who probably would not have spent so long angling to go back to Marseille if he was one of them.

One game each if we get knocked out.
