This terrible news - we have got to replace Ward with someone with quality and pace. Week after week now he is getting exposed for pace and terrible positioning and it’s an area the opposition are exploiting.

I think it forces us to play Ayew, which means we lose out on Olise. Ayew helps out in defence more - yet obviously lacks the vision and creativity of Olise. It's a bit of a conundrum right now. I'd be tempted to try Clyne and see if perhaps he's better in matches than he must seem in training.

Let's cut to the chase: the club cannot wait for Ferguson to miraculously attain full match fitness when he has shown no signs of ever doing so, exemplified by this latest setback. Frankly it's not going to happen and unfortunately the PL is a merciless and unforgiving business. The club needs to make signing Ward's replacement an utter priority, as Ward's best days are now behind him.

Max Aarons is the answer. Wardy as a squad player. Ferguson to rehabilitate on someone else's dime.

But sadly, not at the kind of price Norwich will want for him. Transfermarkt value him at £19.8m, which translates to nearer £30m in PL terms. If Norwich go down, Aarons will go to a bigger PL club than us IMO.

I said at the time signing a player with a major injury was not good business. He was never going to replace Ward. Very shortsighted of the club not to look for a RB at least on loan in the January window instead of spending time chasing Van de Beek and Ramsey.

At the moment is Ward is 1/2 centre back and 1/2 full back. Clyne can do the right back role but he does not have the physical presence to do the centre back role that Ward is playing. Ferguson i think could play this role so lets hope he is fully fit by the end of the season and with a full pre season under his belt he can push for a place in the first team next season.

I love Wardy to bits and while I dont like fans turning on him I realise we need a younger replacement. Does anyone know if we have had the same medical team for a while as we dont seem very good at giving players a medical check up before buying them. Sunderland fans warned that Wickham was a sicknote and yet we still thought that was a good idea. I hope Ferguson is just unlucky with injuries up till now and will come good.

I have no idea why Clyne is kept in the dark. Ward is our weak link now, but with yet another injury, Ferguson will never be a regular PL player for us. We just have to accept the fact.

I suspect that this is due to, despite Ward not being the best right back on the planet, he is in fact the best right back at Crystal Palace football club. I could be wrong as could Patrick Vierra and Roy before him and you could be right or he could be being kept in the dark due to a rare eye condition that means he becomes unwell if exposed to sunlight.

Should put him in touch with Edgar Davids, who judging from his brief spell also suffers with a bizarre allure to Selhurst Park. Surely he knows some bods who could knock up goggles for him?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It’s very sad to say for a kid of that age but I suspect Ferguson is going to have to find something else to do for the rest of his life because it seems his body can’t cope with the rigours of being a professional footballer.

He should ask Zeki Fryers for some advice, currently without a club.
