I'm not sure I've anything to add but its just so frustrating. He will never complete a 90mins in the PL for Palace and when we let him go at the end of his contract he will have earned in the region of £5.5m, assuming the reported salary is correct.
He will not be the only one, there will be others at other clubs. There needs to be some form of 'Fit to Play' clause in contracts, but I appreciate the difficult when players sustain genuine serious injuries playing for their club.
Rant over. Give Clyne a game. Feeling sorry for Ward. Like the guy.

People we didnt buy NF we got him on a free , specalist must have been happy that the knee injury would repair well after operation , so it just wages we have paid , so cost of another full back 10 to 15m + wages , it was a risk worth taking on Fergurson

I’d love us to go in for the Middlesbrough lad on loan at forest at the moment, I forget his name (it’s an age thing) but every time I watch Forest on the box (I’ve taken an interest since the Cooper to palace rumours last year) I thought no how perfect he’d be on our right hand side, strong, powerful, plenty of energy and pace, technically very good.
Just remembered Spence is the lad I’m on about - sadly his performances of late will deffo have others looking at him.

Very good going forward but not so hot at defending IMHO

I'd be happy if we signed any RB who was able to step onto the pitch on match day. That rules out Ferguson, since he'll never be fit.

Ward has been a great servant, but he isn't a starting RB anymore.

Dump Clyne and Ferguson, sign a decent RB, and Ward is on the bench.

I’m keeping faith that Ferguson will be available for the dead rubber games at the end of the season. He can use these and pre season to be ready as first choice RB next season.

Until then, surely Clyne is a better option.

I’m Wards biggest fan, but times up sadly.

My guess is Fergie will be with us next season but he will be injured for the opening games. That’s how we seem to do it.

Incorrect he was not "free" we had to pay around 1m for him.

His wages are no that high he is paid just under 2m per year but this is still millions wasted.

You start adding other players we are doing this for it soon adds up.

I would give this kid another season see how it goes if he cant play 50% of next season must get rid off also we have not been able to see if he is even any good at this level.

You can't be, as there are others who think he still should be picked.

So, who should be picked?

Exactly this. Ward gets slated most weeks when he actually had a decent season but he is basically the only right full at the club. Clyne is shocking.

Basically, our problem is that the risk on Ferguson being ready by Christmas this year hasn't worked and so we are left with a lack of real alternatives to Ward. I certainly don't see Clyne as an upgrade and Kelly struggled there when he was given the chance a few years back.

Like it or not, it's Ward until either Ferguson recovers fully and gets up to speed or we buy a new RB in the Summer and at present, the latter seems the more likely to happen first.
