Good to see that HOL remains at the cutting edge of the important issues of the day.

Fruit and Veg bags. Sainburys and I think Tescos. 30p each! Keep them loose, more fun at the checkout.

Gone are the loose vegetable thin plastic bags. Pay 30p for a re-useable bag ? Else go to the bakery section and take lots of free paper bags to use for your loose vegetables.

Exactly - large box in trolley, unpack onto checkout belt, repack box when cost of shopping calculated.

None of my local supermarkets supply free bags for fruit and veg. Have had to purchase some 30p stringy things
YT can you nab some and distribute amongst fellow HOLERS?

it is good sport to 'borrow' bags for free IF they are laid out within reach & dont have to be asked for, top prize are the heavy duty Aldi style reinforced type (about 60p)
just lift the bugger when the cashiers busy & lay it open ready for use, as you would normally.
sometimes they ask if its yours or not, sometimes they dont & sometimes they know & dont give 2 hoots.
As somebody else said, we've dozens in the car, in the garage & lurking elsewhere, bollox to the supermarkets.

If the supermarkets are serious then why not let people recycle their shopping bags.

I normally bring my own but over the years I have collected loads. I would be happy to bring them to the supermarket and put them in a large bin at the front of the store so other could use them for free.

I don't get why they don't do this.

when i actually remember to bring them with me, I always give a few away, if the person in front has forgotten theirs.
Sod the supermarkets..and while im moaning about them...Tesco and their bloody card, showing a price WITH the loyalty card & a dearer price without.
