We seem to be forgetting Rak-Sakyi, exactly the same player as Olise, but probably a season in the Championship away from Premiership, Schlupps best position is wide, cutting in on his left foot, or a Loan for a year, Olise is hot property at the moment, 60/70m should be accepted, you sell at the peak, one serious injury and a big fee goes out the window, similar to Salako. Self Sustainability through good scouting.

I have a lot of time for Rak-Sakai, but he isn’t Olise, . He hasn’t got a magic left foot for a start, and partly because of that he does not contribute assists like Olise does. Even Olises defensive work is much superior .
Makes it sound like Rak-Sakai, is not a decent prospect, he is is . But Olise, is a bit special.

Take out Wilf's goals and assists and take out Olise's goals and assists and that is how we're playing until Olise comes back from injury. That's what Roy is saying. Plus, we don't know if Olise will come back.

Thanks for that Eagleman. Interesting re the other youngsters if true. Also good if true that Hodgson putting his foot down about letting the youngsters go just yet.

Our squad must be 18/19 players currently. Two goalkeepers, two badly injured. No way we can let them all go.

Calm down the transfer window isn’t over yet. There are more than likely players lined up, but it takes time, as clubs won’t let players go until they have a replacement. Only if your going to pay over the top for a player, will you get them straight away.

I'm not sure what it is you want me to calm down about?

The flaw in that theory becomes apparent when you try to replace Olise. No matter how much work the scouting dept put in, every transfer is a gamble. The ones that do so well as to be worth far more than you bought them for are few and far between. Most will hopefully hold value, some will not. Right now, the simple fact is that if we sell Olise we have a weaker team.

Rak-Sakyi plays in the same position and fashion as Olise, but has done nothing to show he is a preimer legaue match-winner.

If you had read it properly, i said he is about a year away, and we could loan a player for a year.

I think Rak-Sakyi stands out as the 'best bet' from the youth setup simply because he produced far more tangible results (i.e. goals) in his loan spell than most young attackers manage.

At the same time, football history is full of lads who were the best thing since sliced bread at different stages of their youth and early pro careers, but who didn't become top-class first-team players at their clubs. Some develop very early and get caught up, others develop very late and surprise everyone.

Even with his excellent loan spell at Charlton under his belt, we just don't know how good Rak-Sakyi will be in the end.

The report suggested Palace have put a loan move to Ipswich on ice in case they need Rak-Sakyi to play in place of the injured Olise. For some the key part of that will be that RS could get to play. For me, the key part is that Palace were looking to loan him out. If true, that probably tells us where the club think he is in terms of development.

Rak-Sakyi will end up being better than Olise, without a doubt, his temperament is better, Olise just sees Palace as a stepping stone, and i dont think all players do.

And which player would we loan that would be as good as Olise?

Hard to imagine his sale would leave the team anything other than weaker. Business model or not, the idea of the game is not to weaken the side. I think sometimes we all forget that.
