Oh, well. Reality hits home again. It was nice while it lasted.

At least we will get a better sell on fee which will hopefully be spent on strengthening the squad.

I know it's the reality of football, and realistically why should good players want to stay at a club whose ambition is to finish 10th, but I just wish there was an option other than selling our best players. There's been talk of strengthening the squad for decades then we get a couple of players who actually do it and have to sell them.

With the exception of AWB we've barely sold a player for a fee since we came up. I look at it as a positive, selling a couple of our key players will mean we can invest in the overall squad and it will give prospective signings confidence that we won't stand in their way if the deal is right for all parties. It really is, unfortunately, the only way we can progress.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I get that but it feels like running as fast as we can to stay in the same place and that's assuming we can sign a player as good as Eze, Olise or Guehi. I do realise the futility of it but until we manage to hold on to our best players improvement is a faint hope.

Its not just getting a bit more, if he dosent sign then we go into next season with him being able to walk away for nothing, in 12 months, i hope if and when he does sign that a release fee is included, say 80m so then everybody knows what the situation is.

I was very sorry to see Bolasie go, but in retrospect we robbed Everton really, particularly given how things transpired soon after he got there.

In the BBC Gossip column today, quoting the Mail as the source - [Link]

Plenty of commentary around this but I'd suggest Eze signing a new contract is a far more desirable scenario than Eze not signing a new contract.

Good stuff as a far as I'm concerned, very good.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Nothing wrong with that! That said I do have sympathy or Bolasie and the terrible run of injuries he had after Palace.

Exactly this. Seems to be a happy camp.
