Franca/Ahamada, are more suited to be our No10(Eze's roll).

Roy thinks Franca may be too young, experienced and not yet ready for the Premier League. He sees him every day in training.

The puzzling thing is that he also sees Jeffrey Schlupp every day in training and thinks he is. We see him every game, and absolutely know he is not.

A front 3 of Ayew, Jeff and JPM aren't going to score in a month of Sundays (especially with Hughes in a number 10).

TBF, JPM scored a cracker against Brighton. It kinda got lost in all the kerfuffle and the fact that it meant nothing but to take a step backwards and still head firmly from that distance out into the corner was top class

Yeh he did, and it was a cracking goal. To bad it was our CB crossing the back into him.

But do you reckon after witnessing that we'll put in any more than 4 crosses against Chelsea? Doubt it!

There used to be an argument that Schlupp offered more defensive cover but this season he's been more of a spectator for the goals we've conceded than the fans. He used to be good at bursting forward and getting a shot away, but these days his shots are becoming tamer and he rarely gets a cross in. He has one goal and one assist in 20 games. He has a pass success rate of just 76%. I used to say at least he was good in the air, but he wins on average only one aerial duel a game. He mis-controls the ball on average two times a game.

I feel sorry for him because he doesn't look like he's enjoying himself out there. I feel sorry for us because we're certainly not enjoying seeing him out there either!

I concur and one of them should be starting in that role in Eze's absence rather than Hughes.

Exactly, use the players we have instead of blindly following a system for players we don't have.

We could use a different formation as we don't have any wide players.

Schlupp can play wide, Ayew can play wide, Munoz has played further forward on the right for Genk. With Clyne behind him it could work.

I think it is fair to say that either the coaching team dont rate Franca or they just dont feel he is yet up to speed. Many fans would like to see him given a full Prem debut. Maybe, with the injuries we have it is time? It will go one of two ways. He'll either have a decent game and we'll have a glimmer of hope. Or he'll have a stinker and fans will be forced to agree with the coaching staff that he isn't ready. Either way we'll at least all know one way or the other.

The point is that with our current players it's not the best way to use them. How has it been going with Schlupp and Ayew out wide?

That`s the issue but a bit late.

We had plenty of available fixtures (and Olise, Eze were injured for long periods) we could try him, and if he is a flop, let him be a flop.

With not daring to use 20 mil pound guy until February and waiting him to perform in the middle of the heat won`t be fair.

I won`t be surprised if he won`t make starting XI again. As i won`t be surprised if Roy would not think of Mateta & Edouard together for a moment. He enjoys to replace each even if we need a goal..

Fair enough. I see your point but I do think under the circumstances with the injuries we have (I am not one of the fans that thinks he knows more than the manager) but I'd look at building a system/formation that puts as many of our best fit and available players on the pitch.
