Must be true.

Will everyone start calling that OG Ball, then, I wonder?

Wasn’t just the analysis, even without that it was very clear to see that we were set up differently and of course just a coincidence that it happened to be exactly the same as our new manager sets his teams up. Hmmmmm. Yeah just a coincidence.

It’s a point I’d certainly of taken before the game.

Some typical and familiar gripes with looking knackered and a late, set-piece goal but we’ve a new manager in so things may well change.

We showed there’s something to us yet, Glasnerr will no doubt play more ambitious football (beyond aiming for 0-0), new manager bounce hopefully, a decent run to come and maybe returnees.

There’s always plenty to moan at but I’m feeling unusually optimistic. Just want that cohesion and spirit back so I can start looking forward to our games again.

Well done on the away point lads, particularly Jordan. COYP!!!

Good summary!
I just wish we had gone for it after we scored but instead Paddy and Ray reverted to type and went defensive before the 70th minute!!
Never ends well.

As some have already said before the game started I would have said a point was a great result so happy on that score. Not so happy though that once again we conceded at the end of a game to through away two points. This is 17th goal that we conceded in the last 15 of a game this season and yet again a high ball in to box has been our nemesis let’s hope this can be sorted under new management.

I said Mitchell will sink or swim in the new format. After last night, he needs a set of arm bands to keep him afloat moving forwards.
Just not sure he gets it, but maybe someone can teach him.

Respect the point, yes. But in a tight game like that to lose a hard earned lead to yet another late goal and from a set piece did make for some disappointment.

Getting the negatives out of the way ; I admire Richards's commitment but he's a liability in possession. Edouard I think suffers from Imposter Syndrome. He lacks conviction in just about everything he does. I think some consideration needs to be given to changing up some of our defenders in the summer. Bullied yet again from a corner kick. I'd like to see a more imposing physical presence in there.

Some real positives though. Ward did everything that was asked of him. Munoz is improving with every game. Wharton looks a class act in the making. Mateta is now looking like he belongs at this level.Good to see Johnstone back in goal, I think Henderson would have been all over the place had he have played.

Stay up, do some sound buying and selling in the summer and I think next season could be one to look forward to.

Plenty of hard work ahead now though first.

He is technically good and passes the ball well. This was only his third PL game and he was very impressive in the first half.He did appear to tire in the second period but overall his performance suggested that we have a real talent at the club.

I know this is a bold statement, but he reminds me a bit of Geoff Thomas!! If he turns out half the player GT was then Dougie’s found us a gem

He's a solid tackler but if his role is going to be redesigned as an attacking wing back, with less emphasis on defending and much more on attacking, we're going to either need him to improve drastically or get a replacement.

Munoz, on the other side, looks absolutely tailor made for it doesn't he. Massive fan of him already. There was a moment that he did a Cruyff turn to beat two players and then whipped a cross in, loved it.

After all the turmoil in recent weeks and days plus our awful record against then I was fully expecting Everton to come out with a full head of steam and turn us over.

Boring game yes but I was happy with a point. It's a better one for us than them.

Near the top of Glasner's list though should be set pieces. That was another shocker to concede. To also have not scored from a corner all season long is really really poor.

A few thoughts having slept on it.
1. That was Everton's first team. If we had had EE and MO we would have smashed it. There wasn't one player on the pitch who showed any real flair. If either of those 2 played they would have stood out a mile.
2. Last 10 minutes we could have lost it. Subs? Well for me Im afraid Ozoh looks like Reidewald mk 2. He is petrified of the ball! He needs to play in the Championship and get used to the physicality of football. Look at the difference with Wharton who has learnt his trade. Ahamada looked far more assured.
3. I'm not sure that the new manager had any involvement in last night, but roll on Saturday and 3 points!

100% agree on point 1, EE and MO makes that a pretty special team.

IMO partly its down to not having good enough subs, but we also need to work on the mentality. As soon as Ayew scored we sat back, and completely went into our shell. Nobody supporting JPM, no runners past him. This isn't all tiredness, its lack of bravery. Desperate not to lose. ITs a big thing for OG to work on.

Bit harsh on Ozoh, but I tend to agree on the Championship point. I would have liked him to have half a season at Blackburn.
