As some have already said before the game started I would have said a point was a great result so happy on that score. Not so happy though that once again we conceded at the end of a game to through away two points. This is 17th goal that we conceded in the last 15 of a game this season and yet again a high ball in to box has been our nemesis let’s hope this can be sorted under new management. Everton have scored over 50% of their goals from set-pieces and it was known that they would pose a threat aerially. Apropos the goal that was conceded, Johnstone came for the ball but the 6ft 5in Onana was surrounded by Everton players preventing the goalkeeper from making contact.Chris Richards was certainly found wanting in this situation, I do not know who he was supposed to be marking but he ended up running back towards his own goal,in space, with Everton players ahead of him, one of which was Onana. Respect the point, yes. But in a tight game like that to lose a hard earned lead to yet another late goal and from a set piece did make for some disappointment. Getting the negatives out of the way ; I admire Richards's commitment but he's a liability in possession. Edouard I think suffers from Imposter Syndrome. He lacks conviction in just about everything he does. I think some consideration needs to be given to changing up some of our defenders in the summer. Bullied yet again from a corner kick. I'd like to see a more imposing physical presence in there. Some real positives though. Ward did everything that was asked of him. Munoz is improving with every game. Wharton looks a class act in the making. Mateta is now looking like he belongs at this level.Good to see Johnstone back in goal, I think Henderson would have been all over the place had he have played. Stay up, do some sound buying and selling in the summer and I think next season could be one to look forward to. Plenty of hard work ahead now though first. I'll take the point, but let's be honest it was two poor sides. Agree with Richards - not only is his passing quite poor, he got bullied by their sole striker yesterday. Not good enough IMHO. A few positives, Mateta was a handful and Wharton looks composed although really tired 2nd half and should have been subbed earlier. Regarding OE there is a decent player in there and can show a great touch at times, but in between he looks disinterested and is lazy. Unacceptable at any level of professional sport. The moment we scored we sat 10 yards further back and invited Everton to attack. The equaliser was inevitable

If you watch replay of Everton equaliser,Richards was marking goalscorer but loses him quite easily. Agree not strong enough

The players need to exorcise all traces of Royball from mind, body, and soul. Glasner, for this team to play his way, needs to improve fitness levels significantly. Players fading after 60 minutes isn't good enough. Edited by southnorwoodhill (20 Feb 2024 7.28pm)

Agree not strong enough You have very high expectations of a central defender who at 23 is just at the start of his Premier League career. Defenders tend to improve with experience and tend to be at their peak in their late 20s early 30s. For comparison take Virgil van Dyke who only came into the Premier League with Southampton aged 24 and moved to Liverpool at 27. Richards is unfortunate in that the Guehi / Andersen partnership is so stable he hasn’t had the chance to gain vital experience. It is also easy to criticise him when he was up against a player 3 inches taller in the melee of players. If he is allowed more experience I think we will see another Dougie gem for our Europa League campaign!!

I agree with you; he has done a very decent job in my view since having to step into an unfamiliar midfield role and now back in central defence. I thought he played well against Everton albeit he could perhaps be faulted for the goal.

One thing I've noticed with Richards, who looked far more comfortable in central defence, is that he only makes the odd mistake, but when he does a goal tends to follow immediately after - at home to Man U last season he let Casimero in, and there are a few more examples. Best game Wardy's had for a while, bit like Martin Kelly, not enough pace for a right back now, but right side of a back three brought the best out of him. If my memory is correct, Pulis used Ward in central defence a few times and I think in midfield too. I wondered if he might be a decent back up holding midfielder if needed.
