On a serious note its never a bad idea just to sit down and talk to him and get his side of everything.

Why not invite him over for dinner or coffee and see if you can get to the bottom of what his actual gripe is. It may just be that it manifests itself through these petty moans and groans.

You might find that you do have stuff that you can compromise on or at least make a truce and decide on a fresh start.

If that doesn't work just nail his cat to his front door and set fire to his car he'll soon shut the f*ck up

We live in a nice detached bungalow and since 2010 have endured a neighbour who over this period has reported us for illegally throwing garden waste into the wrong bin, playing loud music from a 1 watt radio from my garage at 11am, while exercising on my treadmill, complaining that we had installed an illegal brick block drive without planning permission.
Over the last 6 months ,just as we are about to sit down for lunch, he has taken to slamming a sledge hammer onto his garage floor, which has now taken a toll on my wife's health.
All his allegations have been dismissed by the authorities and we have not sought legal advice as we have no wish for their to be any record of a neighbour dispute when we eventually sell the property when house prices eventually recover in our area.

He has also told lies about my wife and i to other neighbours, several who will not speak to us, suggesting that we are perhaps benefit claimants or in some way, on the fiddle, which we are not.We have both worked very hard all our lives for what we have and there may be a degree of jealousy as we enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.
A Palace fan of 40 yrs standing, made the mistake of leaving the Croydon area to retire down on the South Coast.
Any suggestions of how i could reasonably deal with this problem would be very much appreciated.
Thanking you in anticipation.

With all due respect, surely your wife's health is far more important than a few quid that you may or may not lose if/when you decide to move?
And how old is the neighbour? Is he a senile old singleton, a stroppy 'youngster' or somewhere in between?

I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think.

They say violence doesn't work, but a guy I worked with had a house full of students next to his mum, they created a bit of agro (nothing too bad, music and a bit of mess) so he let it slid. One day though his mum complained about a bit of noise and a few lads were messing about in her garden... One of the students told her to f off.
The guy I worked with went round there beat the s*** out of the offender... Then grabbed his wallet... The offender thought he was going to take his money, but what this guy did was take down his personal details, then threw the wallet back at him, bent down and whispered in his ear "I'm going to kick your dad's head in the next time my mum has reason to complain"
Never had another problem.
Sometimes you need leverage.

The dude now works driving a black cab.... At work after the incident we called him" The Equaliser"
