Some might say the problem can be in not having a consistent approach to morality, and having tunnel vision in imputing the same views to all members of a "culture",and a tendency to focus constantly in their posts (however it might be dressed up) on the undesirability of "cultural mixing".

"We" have elements within "our culture" who don't believe in equality and are homophobic...."We" have elements within "our culture" who adopt a pernicious ideology, viz the BNP...

Dressing up ? Certain posters ?

A little bit of hypocrisy there.

I don't dress up anything. Here it is plain and simple.
There is a tenancy among people like you to justify one wrong by highlighting another. That is an argument of the worst and most self serving kind.
To say multi culture is desirable or undesirable is irrelevant in so much as it is what those cultures bring that is the issue. To indirectly defend homophobia or sexual inequality because it challenges a precious liberal concept like multi culture is simply putting zealous ideology over reality. And then to say that white culture already has those prejudices is the most infantile argument imaginable. What is wrong is wrong and if you uphold a moral concept you must be consistant.

Do we have 'elements' in "our culture" who, to paraphrase Stewart Lee, want the total destruction of Judeo-Christian civilisation?

Thanks for the compliments. But,I remain unimpressed and must respectfully disagree with your analysis and the "world view" (zealous ideology?) it represents. You very much IMO filter "reality" through the narrow prism of your particular prejudices, certainly no less than any you criticise. You are about as "objective" as the referee against Man U last week!

Hypocrisy is very much in the eye of the beholder as are "infantilism" ,acting in a "self-serving" manner and "zealous ideology".

Not long ago,on another thread you argued cultural separation as a principle was desirable. Now,as a principle, its "irrelevant".Please don't lecture me about consistency.

As for suggesting I have defended homophobia or sexual inequality in my posts on this thread, whether indirectly or otherwise, I'm afraid IMHO you are veering right into the realms of fantasy land.

I fear you have missed the point I was making, though you have perhaps inadvertently reinforced it.

We do indeed have some such "elements" who profess such a view,as do very many countries in the world. If you look back to before you started posting on HOL you will see I have not been backwards at condemning such "elements" and the ideology they embrace.Do you consider these "elements" to consist by any chance,of the entire muslim population of the UK who are inherently "such elements" because of their faith?

Of course not, that would be a very silly attitude - like you implying that the BNP represent "our culture". I guess the Judeo-Christian civilisation can sleep easier now that we know that you have "not been backwards at condemning such "elements"

Here is an interesting view on these matters.

Good that I never suggested the BNP "represented" our culture then.

Yes,I read Rod Liddle's opinion at the time. Not generally a division one "commentator" in my view, but others may disagree.

Similarly why did you ask if I 'consider "these elements" to consist by any chance,of the entire muslim population of the UK' ?

So a highly intelligent and erudite legal person like you good self thought it possible that someone would think that the entire Muslim population of the UK was in favour of the total destruction of Judeo-Christian civilisation. What is your legal status by the way - court clerk or something, man on the door that searches 'elements' for bombs?

Funnily enough, there are those in this world with that view, in my experience. Some of them style themselves as being erudite and intelligent. Some may even be lawyers (shock horror!).

Delighted you are not one of them.

My "legal status" all too often is the person who listens to people make silly attempts at "humour" and "cutting remarks"!

A daft evasive straw man argument on your part.
What exactly are my prejudices ?

I'll tell you. My prejudice is against culture, religion and anti social behavior that does not benefit our society and one that takes us backward instead of forward to a more enlightened state.
In this context, multi culture as an ideology facilitates the problems we face. but if all culture was free of prejudice, it would be of little consequence.
The simple fact is that imported cultures are often running counter to liberal progressive thinking. You cannot just simply defend the principal of multi culture in a blanket fashion if some of those cultures promote a moral standpoint that is completely opposite to other liberal principles.
It is the kind of muddled bulls*** that we have come to expect from holier than though socialist/liberal bleeding hearts, who think they have the moral high ground on everything and believe that allows them to have flexible morality as and when it suits them.
