A tiny 1% lead after a disastrous Budget attacking the disabled and rewarding the rich and Ian Duncan Smiths shock resignation - effectively a week where the Tories have shot themselves in both feet and came across as the nasty party!

Imagine what Labour's lead might have been had Burnham won the leadership contest and was leading a credible opposition to government?

I would guess you might have been 10% or more ahead.

Corbyn is a turn off to most voters.

You could put that scruffy cnut in a £40,000 William Westmancott suit and he'd still look like a bag s***. Weedy little scruffy s***, who would sell the falkland Islanders down the river in the blink of eye, thus insulting ALL those who paid for their freedom with the ultimate sacrifice.

The fact that he f***ed that fat racist cnut Abbott is testament to his personel standards level.

Surely you mean another week.

I'm not sure on Corbyn with the voters, I think he might have that 'Saunders / Trump / Farage' appeal with a lot of people. He'll either continue to do better than people in the know think, or completely tank it in a manner that would make the 1997 defeat of the Tories look gentle.

I'm not sure people of a right wing bent tend to see how the labour party under Blair and Brown gutted itself to appeal to swing voters.

Thing is, Corbyn will need to win back Scotland from the SNP to have a real chance of actually winning. And I don't see that happening.

he couldnt beat a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. Liberal lefty utopian idea of a leadership.

If he was a car he would be a reliant robin, or a gee whiz.

Maybe it's a generational thing, but some of you really don't seem to realise how much support he's gaining. Dismissing him as a scruffy old man is lazy.

Not that polls matter at this stage; but that Yougov poll was conducted before the budget shambles and IDS fallout. In the report, Labour's lead was blamed on Tory Euro in fighting.

The next poll will no doubt show Labour further ahead....especially now Cameron has hung his best mate out to dry.

If that is true, how come Labour are doing so badly in Wales & Scotland, its traditional stomping ground and supposedly the most left wing places in the UK?

You may superficially get a few nods of approval from the young in London but I don't think he as popular as you think.

One wonders when the leadership will do something about this cancer in their Party?
