I think 9 million is a bit spiteful for Wickham.
Some on here were saying Austins not worth £15 million.
I'd start Murray, give Wickham a miss and see how Bamford gets on, with a view to signing him, if he's decent.

Well if he hadn't signed a new contract he would've gone for even less. Your manager is prepared to take a loss on him to raise funds for someone else who he rates higher. Come back at the end of the season and we'll see who did better out of the deal, Mr Makem

I think If we actually do sign Wickham, It would be a great signing for us, He is only 22, 6'3 tall, phiscal & reasonably quick.Forget the stats not being that great, he is much better than the stats say.
Last season he played on the wing for a very poor side.
If played where he should be as a centre forward leading the line he will a top player with a big sell on value.
As for Muzza, I will be sad to see him move on & like most would like to keep him for at least 1 more season, but thats up Parish & Pardew.
As for Wickhams price around 8 million, If we get 3 million for Muzza, It's a high price but one I think is worth it, also I think a lot clubs would have gone after Wickham, but we seem to got him under the radar!!!
I thought I would never see the day that Palace would become a stable Premiership club, not an yo yo club & now we are supposed to be trendy to!!!
I think if we just get a good C/B in, in case anying happens to Dann, then we are sorted & then our Palace really can push on without us all worrying about a regaltion battle.

He signed a new 3 year deal with Chelsea and he made a media statement that his career is with that club. Both were designed to ram home the point to anyone listening that this lad is a year loan; he will not be sold

I take your point but when was the last time Chelsea brought a young player through the system? Unless he is a sensation with us the chances of him becoming Chelsea's main striker is nil. A player signing a new contract means nothing these days, Connor Wickham being a prime example.
