With all due respect Willo, unless there is ambiguity as to what is categorised as an arm, VAR has the capability to review the instance from various camera angles, in slow motion, and decide whether it hit a f***ing arm or not.

The only two explanations are either corruption or gross incompetency. Given the CK is now in charge of the Burnley game I have to assume it's the former.

I totally reject the accusations that corruption is at the heart of VAR decisions, accordingly I reject the charge that the decision which has caused such controversy was borne out of corruption.

The VAR clearly decided that having looked at the images,as far as he was concerned it was inconclusive as to whether the contact with the ball was made in an area which constitutes 'Handball'.

Well it seems that only VAR and you are the only 2 who think it was inconclusive. TBF I think Tierney was unsighted so needed VAR to step up, clearly who was not up to the task

Maybe not but the decisions given against us in the Liverpool game, smacked of corruption, as I sincerely hope the PL are not knowingly employing totally incompetent Officials

The VAR formed the opinion that the evidence was inconclusive and clearly this will (If it hasn't already) be discussed as part of the forensic post-match analysis.

Had the ball made contact lower down on the arm, the VAR would have arrived at a different decision.

With respect I have already stated why I believe the penalty was awarded in the Jota incident.

I don't believe I have anymore to add on the Jota penalty decision or the incident involving Rodri.

You'll be surprised how widespread corruption is on this planet. This country is no exception. Tends to follow big money. Take a look at the recent growth of money in football and join up the dots.

I wouldn't say I entirely subscribe to your thinking although I did bring up corruption but more 'tongue in cheek' than a devoted belief let alone evidence for. I do think it naive however to not look at the culture and circumstances around football (as you've highlighted) and not accept it as at least a possibility if not reality.

I could never be a football referee at any level, I know I'd have bias whomever was playing whether it be the Sudanese second division or the English Premier League. If you then added a significant sum of money to the equation of which I was confident would remain unexposed, I'd certainly be willing to give a few dodgy decisions here and there Let's say Southampton vs Wolves or something, would be very hard to make a full case for in any circumstance without full evidence, given the ambiguity around officiating these days. Throw 5 or 6 figures on the table and I'd certainly be inclined!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
