I think he's looked quality every time he's played for us. Shame he's injury prone.

From what I know about Holding, he looks like he's got a clanger in him. Richards, if fit, would slot in nicely.

Why do you say that?

He has had 1(one) injury since he's been with us end of July '22. Yes he had injury issues at Bayen Munich, but, that was then, this is now.

Copy and paste from BBC:

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson on the fitness of Marc Guehi: "He’s likely to miss the game. It’s a problem that we think can be easily managed, or he isn’t unduly worried about, but it’s come too soon, unfortunately."

Out just for Villa hopefully. Richards and Holding not bad for alternative options.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Having Guehi and Lerma out is a concern as both have been excellent this season. I would imagine that Hughes will come in for Lerma, but with Tomkins also out it'll be a straight fight between Richards and Holding for Guehi's spot.

Think he should play Richards and Holding. Holding in the middle and Richards at RB.

Richards was very poor the last time he played RB, looked lost, then I think it was Andersen got injured and he shifted across and looked much better.

It will be Holding in Gehi's place as Hodgson likes him according to the story in the papers today.

If Guehi is out. Holding has to play against Fulham. Richards will make too many mistakes.

Disagree. He's had one major injury but seems to have minor muscles injuries quite regularly. He's often not been included on the subs bench, which seems to confirm this. Last season was very stop/start for him. In the recent US pre season tour he missed a game due to a minor muscle injury.
Hopefully he can now have an injury free period, but to date he's been a regular in the physios room

I felt Richard’s had a strong game against Villa. If anything it was Andersen struggling to play alongside him that concerned me? The Guehi / Andersen combination is one of our strengths and defending set plays have improved with Lerma defending them as well. Doucoure had a great game on Saturday but Lerma was badly missed. If anything it was not having quality players on the bench which would have helped us with the likes of Hughes or Schlupp being able to come on. Sadly they had to play 90 minutes with no one of quality to come on :-( Richard’s is also a great bench player but he also had to play with Guehi out. Holding is unknown to me as to how he will fit in. I’m sure we will find out in the coming weeks. On another point I felt Reidewald should have been brought on for the last 15/20 minutes to strengthen our midfield which was looking tired. Would Hodgson have done that if there?
