Team news

Paddy McCarthy will sit out the game through suspension following his red card at QPR last weekend. CLAUDE DAVIS is likely to replace the Irishman at the back against his old club Derby. Midfielder Alex Marrow has had a setback in his recovery from a long standing ankle injury.

Derby's Tomasz Cywka is still sidelined with a knee injury. Jake Buxton (groin) and goalkeeper Saul Deeney (shoulder) are still missing. Russell Anderson and James Bailey may return to the Rams squad.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Derby have struggled in recent weeks which has surprised me a bit. They are a big club and one stage of the season I really thought they'd be challenging the top six.

"It shows you what a tight league it is the way they've fallen. All it takes is one or two injuries, a little bit of lost confidence and all of a sudden you're plummeting down the table.

"But they had a good win over Swansea last weekend and we're expecting another tough match. They all are. I know that's a bit of a boring old cliché, but in this division it's the absolute truth.

"A couple of people have asked me this week if there's any revenge in mind after the thumping we took at their place earlier in the season, but I honestly don't think that result will come into our heads at all. It's a different regime now and there will be quite a few different players in our team as well.

"All our focus is on is preparing well and going out there on Saturday and getting the result we all want, another victory and three points before we head into the international break."

Dean Moxey

"It's obviously a big one for me this weekend, playing against my old team. It will be good to see my mates when they come down but, hopefully, we can take three points off them.

"I don't think I've really got to prove a point. I think he (Nigel Clough) knows what I'm all about but he obviously didn't want me in the end. So I left and came to a club that actually wanted me. I'm happy now and I'm loving my football.

"Our home record speaks for itself but we've got to keep working hard. Derby have been on a bit of a slide but they are still above us in the table, so we can't take them for granted."

Claude Davis

"It doesn't matter that we are playing a former club of mine. Derby is in the past, I enjoyed my time while I was there and that is done now.

"Saturday is just another game and it is an important game in Palace's fight against relegation. We need five more wins to be sure of survival and the best thing is to get them on the trot starting with three points on Saturday. It would be good to go into the international break with a gap to the teams below us.

"It has been a bit frustrating not starting but what can I do but keep on training hard and wait for my chance? I am a team player though, it is not about whether I am starting or not, it is about being a team player and then doing what I do best, playing football."
