Wayne Carlisle scored his first ever goal for Northern Ireland's Under-21 side and CLINTON MORRISON made his debut for the Republic of Ireland on Friday.
Carlisle's goal earned Northern Ireland a 1-1 draw against Bulgaria.
They went 1-0 up after only three minutes when Carlisle fired home from 20 yards, but three minutes later, group leaders Bulgaria scored the equaliser.
He nearly scored a second, but this time his shot flashed just wide of the far post.
In Dublin on Friday, MORRISON had a tough debut for the Republic of Ireland under-21 side as they lost 1-0 at home to Portugal.
Portugal's goal was scored by Barcelona star Simao on 38 minutes and MORRISON was substituted fifteen minutes from time.
Meanwhile, Mikael Forssell, who was on loan at Selhurst Park for the whole of last season, scored both of Finland's goals in a 2-2 draw against Germany in Helsinki on Saturday.
