Team news

City should field a similar makeshift side to the one that managed a 2-1 win over Reading at the weekend.

Micky Adams' problems have increased though as Brian Deane, who opened the scoring against Reading with his third goal of the season, defender Gerry Taggart and midfielder James Scowcroft missed training yesterday.

Adams said: "The players showed tremendous character on Saturday and we will need the same against Palace because they are searching for their first home win of the season and will be very determined to get it.

"Our situation is such that I will not be able to name a side until the last minute.

"Young Michael Price is travelling down with us as possible goalkeeper cover but I might do the same again, start without one among the substitutes. We’ll see."

"At this stage in the season, you are going to get some funny results because it is still early days.

"We have made a fairly solid start with three wins out of four and we will be looking for more reward at Palace but there is a long way to go."

Palace fans may see former loanee Trevor Benjamin line-up on the opposing side.

Leicester City Squad: Walker, Impey, Elliott, Taggart, Rogers, Scowcroft, Lewis, McKinlay, Stewart, Dickov, Deane, Benjamin, Wright, Oakes, Williamson, Stevenson, Heath, Price.

Palace have no new injury worries going into the match. Andy Johnson may be picked ahead of DELE ADEBOLA to partner Dougie Freedman up front, and Curtis Fleming has recovered from his cut face.

One to watch

Brian Deane

Leicester City's top scorer

Deane - 3 goals

Leicester City's bad boy

Sinclair - 2 0

Palace old boys

Trevor Benjamin

The former Leeds and Boro hitman isn't as highly regarded as midfield man Muzzy Izzet, but with Izzet's future in doubt at the Walkers Bowl, it is Deane that has to ensure an automatic return to the Premiership. Already with three goals to his name this season, Deane is a dangerous striker in the air and in and around the 6 yard box. With plenty of experience on his side, Palace's defence will have their work cut out on Tuesday.
