Norwich City v Palace

Carrow Road, Saturday 3.00pm

Kit Symons

Kit Symons

Team news

Having drawn with Nottingham Forest last Saturday Trevor Francis will be hoping to make it 12 games unbeaten in a row.

Hayden Mullins is suspended for the away trip having picked up five yellow cards so far this season. This should give Kit Symons a chance to see whether he is able to last a whole 90 minutes following his long term injury.

Nic the Greek will once again play in goal as Alex Kolinko is still nursing a groin injury which has troubled him for a while now.

A very important absence is that of striker Dougie Freedman who is struggling with a groin injury. This means DELE ADEBOLA and Andy Johnson will continue together up front.

Norwich City have started the season in fine form and enter the winter period 3rd in the table although they are nine points from table topping Pompey.

Compared to Trevor Francis, Canaries’ boss Nigel Worthington has relatively few injury problems. Alex Notman is a notable absentee, however Palace old boy Neil Emblem has recovered from a groin injury and is likely to be back in the starting line up on Saturday.

One to watch

Iwan Roberts

Norwich City's top scorer

McVeigh - 10 goals

Norwich City's bad boy

Kenton/Nedergaard - 3 0

Palace old boys

Emblen

The flame haired striker has not hit as many goals as he would have liked this season, but has recorded countless assists and his burley frame makes him a nightmare for defenders to mark and combat in the air. The former Wolves and Leicester forward was one of the major reasons for the Canaries rise last season and is certainly the dangerman this time round.
