JAMES SCOWCROFT has revealed his disappointment at being released by Crystal Palace.
The target man was told to leave Palace after just 10 mainly substitute appearances this season with manager Neil Warnock favouring Shefki Kuqi to lead the attack.
SCOWCROFT, 33, was a regular last term, helping Palace reach the play-offs where they crashed out to Bristol City in the semi-finals but has been told he is no longer wanted.
"Of course, I'm disappointed to be leaving - I felt at home at the club. Palace is a good club and it's sad to be leaving," said SCOWCROFT.
"I've played just two 90 minutes of football this season - so after playing quite a big part last season, I'm surprised at the amount of football I've played this year.
"I don't know why that's how it worked out, only the manager can tell you that."
SCOWCROFT netted 14 goals in 86 appearances after arriving from Coventry City on free three years ago.
