Story so far

Norwich are out of the relegation zone after going on a six-match unbeaten run. Manager Glenn Roeder has stopped the rot since his arrival at Carrow Road in October and is seeing a gradual improvement in performances.

Team news

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has no fresh injury worries for the New Year's Day fixture.

Mark Kennedy and TONY CRAIG are both still out with their respective Achilles and shoulder injuries.

Warnock could decide to rest 17-year-old winger Sean Scannell now the more senior Paul Ifill is back again after his thigh trouble.

Norwich skipper Mark Fotheringham is doubtful after missing the last two games with a hamstring strain. Luke Chadwick is out with a shoulder injury and faces an operation.

Manager Glenn Roeder said: "Now the time is right for him to have the operation which will take place next week. We will be without his services for something like three months."

Ched Evans and Dion Dublin will fight it out for a place in attack, while Chelsea may recall youngster Jimmy Smith from his loan spell with the Canaries.

Quotes

Neil Warnock: "We're not the finished article, but we've moulded a unit and worked hard - and we're getting results. We will slip up, but I think anyone can get into the play-offs this season."

Glenn Roeder: "We have lost one in nine - a last-minute winner against a Stoke team who are flying at the moment. I think it is a tremendous effort by the players. You won't find me criticising them.

"That performance I expected to come sooner or later. Hopefully they've got it out of their systems because we've got a tremendous game on New Year's Day at Palace."
