Iain Dowie

Iain Dowie has slammed suggestions of a rift with chairman Simon Jordan.

Newpaper reports this week claimed Dowie has been looking to quit Palace because of his stormy relationship with Jordan.

But the Palace boss denied there is a problem after his side's 2-0 win against Coventry.

Dowie said: "Simon and I are fine. There has been no argument.

"Everyone at this club is in it together. From the kit man to the chairman.

"I talked about pressure but that is when you are 15 points off the play-offs.

"We are improving all time and I still think we should have had more points. We are gaining momentum."

Dowie also singled out WAYNE ANDREWS for praise after the striker's first minute goal.

Dowie added: "I'm delighted for WAYNE ANDREWS.

"He has scored some of the best goals in training I have ever seen and tonight's was a cracker.

"He is a great lad and I really care for him. He wasn't sure of his future here and has some stiff competition from the likes of Morrison, Freedman and Johnson.

"But he can cut it at this level and I know he can have a good career at Palace.

"It was a great start and we looked very comfortable against a tough side. We defended well and attacked together.

"Now we must mount a run and keep going."
