Starts tomorrow. Can Froome do it again? Any up and coming cyclists have a chance? Is Mark Cavendish still fit enough to grab some sprint wins? Looking forward to it.

Just starting now.... stage 1 is based in Normandy ending up at Utah Beach. Froome has only his fitness and a bad accident to fear I reckon. Can't see any serious rivals, but we'll see!

Eventful 1st stage. Contador fell.... nasty road rash on shoulder. Cavendish holds off Sagan, Kietel and Gripel to win stage and his first yellow jersey ever. He has 27 career tour stage wins now, behind Hinault who is well behind Mercxx in first I believe. Edited by Hoof Hearted (05 Jul 2016 12.34pm)

Well done to Cavendish on winning stage 3 by a cats whisker over
A stockbroker urged me to buy a stock that would triple its value every year. I told him, at my age, I don't even buy green bananas! |

It's been a good start for Cav. His number of stage wins without a time trial is simply phenomenal. Peter Sagan is a beast though, his lowest stage finish so far has been 4th. Froome and Quintana look like they're in a straight fight for the GC.
Optimistic as ever |

Another whisker style win for Kietel.

Sagan in 3rd place again, he'll have the Green Jersey wrapped up about a week before the finish at this rate.

Total farce today got to feel sorry for Adam Yates if they take the Yellow Jersey away from him. Bet he wishes he was French.

I don't think there will be a riders strike and they didn't stop and negate the race at the incident. Froome has not been urinated on this tour but he has been attacked by a man dressed as a chicken wrapping a flag around him. So its pretty mundane so far!!
