Hoof Hearted 10 Aug 10 10.01am

Anyone else remember the guy with the big sack of "monkey nuts" that used to go around Selhurst in the 60's/70's/80's.

You would put your hand up and he'd chuck a bag up at you. He collected his money later and I realised how he knew who to approach - because you had a pile of the outsides of the nuts down by your feet on the terraces!

A greasy burger beforehand, a cup of bovril and then the nuts.

It's like I am back at Selhurst watching Swindlehurst notch another goal

They were Italian and his name was Loo,think they were Percy Daltons peanuts, memory a bit dodgy, they were the type of people who always seemed old,if you know what I mean.

It was strange about whatever happened to him.Me and some mates travelled upto to Villa Park in 1962,as we were playing Villa in a cup match, and he was on the coach and kept everyone ammused with his banter, loved Johnny Byrne who got two goals and Uphill the other in a game we lost 4-3.On the way back we were all a bit fed up but he still carried on with his gags.
However, after that day he went missing and we always kept asking her what had happened to him and she would just laugh and say "dont know".Word had it that he run off with another woman but it's hard to imagine as he was a short tubby guy with a funny accent.
Never did find out but she still kept on laughing.

The old girl's name was Minnie Minchella, Sash.
In winter I used to dread her coming round as she always had a dirty great dew drop hanging off her snout.
Made me feel sick.

I know you are but what am I?
