Very noticeable that he stresses ‘team’ a lot when he speaks.

Here is what was announced at the time of his appointment. Apparently Pogatetz was nicknamed ‘mad dog’ when he was a player due to his aggressive playing style - I like the sound of him!

In June 2005, he inflicted a double leg fracture on Russian player Yaroslav Kharitonsky with a foul and was initially banned for 24 matches. At a further hearing, the penalty was reduced to eight competitive matches. On 9 September 2006, he was temporarily suspended from the national team by the ÖFB after publicly criticising coach Josef Hickersberger following a defeat against Venezuela.

Maybe our improved fitness levels is because the players spend a lot of time running away from him?

Sounds scary doesn't he.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

He'll be as hard keep as Olise IMO.

But having them both will help us keep both.

We struggled to keep individuals in the past - Managers like Dougie & Steve Bruce as well as players like Wright, Wilf and Wan Bissaka - but we now seem to have a real ‘team’ (which includes Oli and Dougie) whose best chances of success is with this team. Jumping ship is a risk - especially when many of the big 6 clubs have new untested managers ( or no manager at all in the case of Spurs and Chelsea). I keep seeing headlines that Man U are after one of ours and I laugh - why would anyone give up what Palace offers at the moment for the basket case that is Old Trafford!

I am sure that I have tried to weave a positive sentiment around this in the past, to convince myself more so than anyone else, but it is surely a very logical one now?

Man City, Liverpool and Arsenal probably remain quite attractive but they'll most likely be looking 'above us' for transfers.

Chelsea and United are pure trainwrecks at this moment, the Newcastle bubble has fallen as quickly as it rose, Villa doing well but even they got beaten 5-0 by a 'smaller club' the other day... I forget who. Tottenham... well Tottenham. So on and so forth.

Olise to Chelsea, Guehi to United etc. I can't help but think that if they have ambition or even common sense that doesn't make much sense. Glasner seems to have not only brought a completely revolutionary transition in our football but even has Olise hugging him!

We're surely on course for an exciting and successful season next, if everyone stays. They know they'll be playing first team football, at still a young age, and probably reap the plaudits/get the attention for the success. A few even getting Int'l call ups now too. You'd at the least think they might want to see 'how it goes', for at least next season if not more...

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

That all makes sense to us but we haven't got agents agitating for us to move. Realistically players in their early 20s don't need to earn more than £1m+ every 2/3 months but their agents and advisers seem to think differently.

Yes, you're right Teddy, b****y agents are a real pain in the proverbial. Don't you just hate them?

Of course. There will always be the dollar signs in their eyes approach. I am estimating more of them though, they're Palace players for now

For sure. It's nice to think in about 12 years time we'll be speculating that Olise, Eze and co are getting past it and we should think about letting them go.

I agree with this sentiment and I get feeling that front 3 are happy as a unit and appear to get on as individuals. Therefore I think they will stay for another year and review next summer

Geuhi is a Different arguement and he shows no sign of extending his contract and if he won't then we need to sell before his value drops.

If you look at players that are leaving we have approx 100k pw wages saved more if Clyne does not renew.

We all know squad has been wafer thin with injuries and lack of quality of bench this year.

So the question is how do we move forward without breaching FFP ( or whatever its called next year). Currently according to press we are fairly safe however we still need to take this into account.

My guess is we have about £30-40 million as a transfer fund and this may buy us 2 decent players who earn around £35-40k p.w

This leaves around £20-30 k p.w spare is this enough to persuade Geuhi to extend when he sees others earning more? My guess is it isn't.

Also by selling him with money we get can we strengthen team and still keep within FFP. I think if SP plays hard ball with prospective buyers we may get £80 million as he is in demand. I don't beleive Chelsea have a percentage clause but I do think they have a right to match accepted bid

With Chelsea, Brighton, Wet Spam without a manager and those of Ipswich, ManU, Newcastle walking a tightrope Lady Luck has shone on us this season with Glasner. Dougie seems to have opted to stay and continue the project. All we need now is for Olise and Eze to commit to one more season with a fit Dacoure and Franca and a few key signings and we could be on for a great 24/25.

However, we are Palace and ‘just when you thought it was safe to get back into the water….’!!!
