I disagreed because I don’t think they want that immigration to remain illegal illegal. They want to make it legal. They don’t approve of people risking their lives in small boats. They want us to send big boats to get them.

From memory, the recent analysis of worldwide trends of birthrates saw Japan's population changing by the year 2200 to be just 50% ethnically Japanese. Which for those who hold Japan up as a model we ought to be imitating must present quite a dilemma.
