Yep - was in goal for my first ever game in 74.

Didnt look that old though..this is him after he had gone to the USA - He might have played like a 50 year old mind

what about brian parkin, had a safe pair of hands, but would have to say my top 3 keepers would have to be

john burridge
nigel martyn
julian speroni

p.s from what my dad and other supporters say john jackson would be the all time number 1

Palace have nearly always had a luxury of having top class goalies over the years(Not all admitably)But for me Jacko numero uno, followed by Nigel Martin....But in a few years I may change me mind(If I have 1 left)to Jules....

So does anyone know where they are now?

For me Vic Rouse has to be in that list, certainly was on a par with Jackson & Glazier if not better.

Jacko was brilliant as was Glazier - he left for a world record fee for a goalkeeper because he had problems with the then manager, Dick Graham (as did many others). Martyn was exceptional, Burridge, Vic Rouse, Tony Millington.. we have had some unbelievable keepers down the years & now we have another one in Jules.

What about Andy Woodman ? best sub goalie on Palaces books - 5 years and never played for the first team due to Nigel Martyns fitness.
Can really recommend his book with Gareth Southgate called "Woody and Nord" - loads about Palace and also the surrounding areas - a really good read!

Dick Graham might not have been the most popular manager but I recall him signing for us as a goalie in December 1945 and for several seasons he did pretty good for us but I guess John Jackson was the tops followed by Bill Glazier. Yes we have had some top class keepers at the Palace and Speroni is not far behind any of them.
