Anyone not realising the greatness of this woman must be ignorant of her legacy.

Ok tell us about her "greatness" - Help make us less ignorant

This country was on it's knees in th 70's, Margaret Thatcher, did something previous govs of both hues had failed to do and that was to make Britain competitive.

The EU rebate - now somewhat eroded, but redressed in part the inherent basket case that was the cap.

Instrumental in bringing around the end of the cold war by getting Gorby and Ron to work and trust each other.

Won a war - Falkland Islanders I'm sure will be forever grateful.

I am too young to remember Thatchers era, but if you were lower class like my family, you struggled, while the rich benefited. Heartless bitch, good riddance, I say.

Fair point...but for every one of you there will be tens whose familys in similar sitautions prosperd...i know because I was in one of them....

Wow 'tens' you say. Funny how she never managed to go higher than around 36 per cent vote during three won General Elections if so many, many did well.

I know because I was there.......watching Peter Snow and his old swingometer

Yep...far less of an exaggeration than 'millions' wouldn't you say

Everyone's views are based on their experiences which is why we all feel the way we do about her.

it was well over 40% in 1983...but then again anyone could have beaten the labour party that year.

She was a grocer's daughter.

My message behind my post is that all the rich have nothing bad to say about her cos she helped them out, while the poor got f***ed over. I know these people because I went to school with them.

The Conservative party have always been about benefiting the rich while the poor suffer. The problem with the poor is that they don't really trust any political party so they don't vote, they need to start voting cos the rich they get everyone and I mean EVERYONE in their families to vote, even the grannies.

People who eulogise her as the 'greatest prime minister ever' might want to take a closer and more objective look at her record.

People who are celebrating her death are behaving deplorably and ought frankly to be ashamed of themselves.

Why?

Why is it deplorable? If you really need to ask I wonder if it's worth me explaining.

It just is. It's undignified, uncivilised, un-Christian, contributes nothing and marks you out as either foolish or nasty or both.

Thatcher: Successful politician. Won three elections. Did some good things, did some bad things. Not a messiah. Not an evil bogeyman.

By all means disagree with what she stood for. But celebrating her death in this distasteful fashion does you no credit.

Which is a pity. If her dad was a fishmonger or butcher I'd know some perverted limericks to sing

I'm not sure I know any upper or lower class people! A very diverse group of buddies you have Jordan
