Anyone remember a tall blonde lad nicknamed Snowy who used to go in the AW enclosure in the 80's?

I used to stand near him and his group back then, don't know if he was a 'face' but I remember him being at the centre of the banter and singing.

Is he the same bloke who got run with all the Palace, by the ICF in the AW, the same game Billy Gilbert got a 30 yard screamer ?

Don't know mate but if he was in his usual spot in the AW enclosure he probably was.

I knew Snowy well, during the 80's &90's but last time I saw him was years ago at a Luton 2007 I think it was.
If memory serves he's down in Cornwall area?
Was definatley a face back in the day.

I never knew him well, just one of the faces I always used to see at Palace games back in the day. Reading this thread brought back some memories and I suddenly remembered him and wondered if anyone else did.

Yeah The Old Den. Why did they bother calling it the away end?

Millwall certainly have a very bad track record!. In the 1947/1948 season their ground was closed down for two weeks because of their bad behavior. They played their home game against Newcastle at Selhurst Park and we Palace urchins went along to downgrade the Millwall supporters. Although I did not actually see it,I believe there were street fights in and around the Holmesdale Road after the game. One old and very drunk Millwall supporter grab me by the scruff of the neck and gave me a good shaking because he said I was being rude about Millwall. If they go on playing football forever at Millwall I doubt they will ever become civilized,I guess its their culture or lack thereof.

Bit of a random question. Does anyone remember Alan L who was a Palace youth keeper in the early or mid 80s. was a Millwall supporter but used to be in with a few of the Palace lads and go to the games. I used to know him in the 90s before he lost his was a bit

I saw a well known Wilton face sucker punch a totally innocent away fan in Thornton Heath High Street once. Used to think he was alright but went right down in my estimation that afternoon.

If he was a Man City fan he knocked over an old man to the ground out side the George so got a full on punch on jaw which put him on his @rse!! it was witnessed by a neighbour who grassed me up to my old man!
I got a telling off and warning! then went to see my then girlfriend to find out to my horror both her and her Mum saw me connect with my punch from the top deck of a 50 bus boy did I get the riot act from them!

But then again I wasn't a well known Wilton face

Was he a lanky dude Seth? With a wispy moustache? Part of a noisy group that later sat at the back of the Arthur next to the seated away fans.

He was lanky, not sure about the moustache. Definitely part of a noisy group but I knew him from the AW enclosure and don't know where he went to sit when they put seats in that section. He was always part of the banter/abuse of away fans when they were in the corner between the AW and old Holmesdale terrace though so it wouldn't be a surprise if he chose to sit near them.

Sounds like the same chap. Used to hang around with the thug I mentioned earlier who sucker-punched an away scarfer. Though he was blameless there.

Football hooliganism carries a great deal of responsibility for the likes of Hillsborough and Haysel along with the isolated deaths over the years. Less seriously, it also keeps thousands of fans away from grounds that they would otherwise attend. Meanwhile, many idiots on here look back fondly.

Old soldiers 'look back fondly'at war memories, does that make them idiots!.I was at many of the games mentioned as a youngster (11 at Chelsea 76') and it's been a great trip down memory lane reading these stories.this thread is not about morals, just memories.
