Was at the QPR game that day. Did not even see the kick off as I was spotted by the nice ob from the gantry and spent the day in Sheppards Bush nick.
Charged and had to appear at Marleybone Magistrates.
Quite a few Palace boys nicked that day.

I was nicked and taken into the police hut. I can still see the female copper who was behind the desk. She was a big fat thing with short black hair. I was just ejected. When I got outside a group of lads asked me what had happened, I stupidly said that that curnt Allen had just scored and it was going off something rotten.

I thought they were Palace but they were QPR. They were just about to kick 7 colours of shyte out of me when the gate I had been thrown out of opened, a steward grabbed me and pulled me back inside. I could have kissed him !!!!

With the Chelsea game coming up, any one remember the running battles in the away end at the Old Bridge.Vague recollection of one brave Palace fan taking on the whole Chelsea firm at the front on his jack jones. Or Chelsea in the Holmesdale cup game I think on a Tuesday night in the p***ng rain.

I remember both games.

The battle at the bridge got Jimmy Hill on MOTD all bothered about the aggro. The guy your talking about had a flat cap on and JH kept saying he's doing kung fu....LOL

The game at Selhurst was a right laugh. I went with my brother who is Chelski and he thought they had scored, but the ball stuck in the mud... PMSL.

Colemans goal in the mud, trickling over the line with the holmesdale all going mental, what a night.Cant remember the other scorer but i seem to remember him winning a mountain bike for some reason!

Agreed, Me an my mates always went on the special trains. One year there was a modern train with a disco and TV'S!!! called the league Liner. Palace got it for the away trip to Sunderland , we got a draw and the Sunderland were none to happy and it was a very hairy walk to the station. No alcohol ban and we got really rat arsed on those trains every away game.

Remember Preston away. We got to the ground early about 400 Palace . Some preston started taunting us from the other end . Someone realized there was no old bill and that was id 400 Palace charged across the pitch up to their end .Suddenly Police came from everywhere and cordoned off their end with police horses etc , then herded us back in out end. Later someone said hey there was an announcement at half time about me on the tannoy. I thought it was a wind up and asked a copper. He said yes come this way. I was lead round the pitch, up the tunnel looked in the Palace dressing room getting their half time talk. Then this big cooper in a tall hat and a big stick told me "Is this your wallet?" " I said oh, yes officer" He said " Well the Preston Goalie, Ray Tunks found it on the pitch!" "WHat were you doing on the pitch ? I said , I wasn't on the pitch someone must av knicked it , but thanks for getting it back for me!"

I was at that game but at the other end of the main stand. Sadly just a youngster and innocently unaware of any agro going on. I think we had a few of our academy kids playing that game too - possibly Ndah and another?

Some great posts, quite a few where I can say I was there was never a main boy but had my moments

Orient away West ham turned up and we had some real fun, unfortunately someone had a glass smashed on his head in the pub after and it all went off big time!
The pub had a lot of it's windows put in after that, and a few in the pub got a kicking anyone remember Junior?

Qpr away 82 was mental only 19 was one of the 1st on the plastic pitch with Bobby K, I vividly recall Pat T on the roof to our left braces and all urging Palace fans to invade the pitch After the game all round the bush area it was going off everywhere.

We got up to all sots of mischief but I wont go into too many details about the Seaweed and Clown scum but lots of fun over the years.
Got nicked a few times at Clowns and go away from Old bill at the Gallstone

Someone mentioned Reading, they came to Selhurst as a newly promoted team loads of chaps up for kicking off.
Some of us had a pretty bad tear up with them near Selhurst train station enough said

Naughty boy

I bet we know each other, I remember Reading, they chased about 10 of us down Holmsdale road, they were about 50-60 handed, when we got near Selhurst station someone shouted f*** it lets have it, so we turned and started laying into them, majority of them backed off and didn't wamt to know but we had a good scrap until the old bill turned up hitting everyone with batons.
Qpr away was bad, C.Allen stuck his 2 fingers up at the Palace fans when he scored and total carnage ensued, pitch invasion followed by what was a mini riot outside, a few cars got turned over and I remember a Rolls Royce on fire.Swindon Away, Orient Away with Hammers fans and Bournmouth away were all great days. Nothing ever beat Weed and Clowns away though, Though I enjoyed those days with like minded people I wouldn't want things to go back they way as society is far to vicious now and weapons common place.I wouldn't run and would always help out fellow Palace fans in bother but would not go looking for it.

I remember a Brighton coach getting torched in a side street off Thornton Heath High Street not far from the Wilton in early 1980's. Come on. Who did it?
