i know we love Selhurst but can't help feeling we would grow so much if we were able to get back here and that the majority of us would approve.

Those little buildings far away from all else in the top right of the picture must have been the dressing rooms. Anybody know for sure?

Perhaps there is a forgotten covenant locked away in some solicitor's safe that gives Crystal Palace FC rights to that bit of land in perpetuity. Find it and we can demolish what is there now and set about constructing that 35,000 seater stadium pronto!

Crystal Palace park surely - Palace's ancestral home!

Watchers in the stands must have needed opera glasses to follow the action

Yep CP park it is. I think we were there for around twenty years to begin with and that is where some FA Cup finals were played.

Would I be right in thinking that picture was taken from above Crystal Palace train station and the track that can be seen is the old motor racing circuit?

Yes more or less above the station and that track would probably have become part of the racing circuit as I doubt there was racing back in 1910 there.

Used to lie in bed at the weekend listening to the racing cars going round in the mornings.

I used to go swimming when the racing was on, mini's or scooter racing, then sneak up on to the 10 metre platform diving board and lay down and watch them racing down the hill and past the side of the building. All that glass had its uses.

As you posted almost 2 months ago, you may well now have the answer to your own question. But, if not, just to say we played at the Herne Hill velodrome during WW1, and then in 1918 moved to the Nest, which was situated opposite Selhurst station. According to Wikipedia, people used to buy a platform ticket to watch the matches from the station platform, as that was cheaper than paying at the turnstile!
