I am hearing that Roy is going to Watford. Dunno how I feel.

Wow, I definitely didn’t see that one coming. I guess their thinking is he kept us up for 4 seasons so maybe he can do the same for them. Not sure what the Watford fans will make of it. I’m guessing a lot of them won’t be impressed.

Roy wasn’t sacked by Palace, he left because he thought he was getting too old for the Job. I am surprised he is going to Watford, I just hope he doesn’t nick points of us, boring he maybe but he knows how to win games.

For a short term appointment it could be good, proving he is fit and healthy to do so at his age. He is a very competent mid table Premier league manager. At the end of the season I do believe we need a new direction though, this constant 2-3 managers a season cannot continue. The Pozzo's need to trust a manager and give them freedom to breath and create an identity. Will they do it? I highly doubt it

He wasn't getting a new deal from Palace anyway, the club decided months before it was announced

I think he’ll be a good appointment if he takes it. Knows how to bring stability on a low budget and may help them get their identity back. Certainly would be less confident about our two games against them now.

I think Watford have finally given some proper thought into appointing a manager. Much as I was bored rigid with Roy’s tactics and the way he sets his teams up, he’ll give Watford a real chance of staying up that’s for sure Edited by monkey (25 Jan 2022 8.20am)
