I assume the train was stopped there when the driver was made aware. This scumbag will be caught they have good photos so somebody knows him. My guess this guy will have a criminal record this is not his first brush with criminality. I think this incident shows that street violence can occur even in the nicest and safest of neighbourhoods. As for Beckenham, earlier in the threat I think I posted that the only time I feel unsafe is Friday and Saturday night when you have hordes of young men from outside who come to party. I remember a bloke having his sternum detached by being stamped on in Kelsey Park, another guy was killed in a fight at what was the Lazy Toad or Lantrey's twenty five or so years ago. It's nothing new. Stabbing is mostly limited to one demographic.

FYI My neighbour has just told me that the Air Ambulance landed on the village green. Kudos to the pilot the green is surrounded by trees and within it are park benches rubbish bins and other stuff so I am amazed at the pilots skill avoiding all that. Edited by Badger11 (28 Mar 2024 8.51am)

It's nothing new. Stabbing is mostly limited to one demographic. Yup on the corner of Beckenham Junction you have 2 nightclubs and 2 bars plus a takeaway and narrow pavements. Groups of young men from Penge, Downham Estate Lewisham and Bromley come to Beckenham on a weekend. In that narrow space there have been several murders and countless fights and stabbings. The locals have tried and failed to shut down the late night spots but the police are happy for them to remain as they know where the trouble will be and we wouldn't want to inconvenience them now would we.

In my teens I used to go out in Beckenham as there wasnt’t much going on in Bromley and also the local ‘ gang ‘ didn’t have any love for me ! I also played football in Beckenham back then so a lot of the early 70’s to mid 80’s I went out there a lot. Never once did I encounter any problems. Sadly it seems like it’s become just like anywhere else.

I recall sitting in a Beckenham restaurant and witnessing about 50 teenagers having an mma fight in the street, as my free entertainment. Just a few years ago. I was shocked. Funny enough, most of the other customers didn't bat an eyelid.

I recall visiting the establishments in Beckenham back in the day. Tites, Lautrecs,Lazy Toad,The George,Three Tuns,The Beckenham etc etc and never witnessed any violent behaviour at all. I know of a delightful young couple in their late 20s/30s who have sampled the establishments in Beckenham at a weekend in recent times and they reported no trouble at all. Only about a couple of weeks ago a young lady in her mid-30s met her friends for some culinary delights followed by liquid refreshments in the 'Bridge Bar' and she mentioned to me that the bar contained people much older than her and the atmosphere was congenial.
