So your position is that there's been no research into the link. None.

Well, rather obviously, there has been. It's not exactly a secret that it's a known (but rare) side effect is it?

Do you think that the long list of serious side effects for all vaccines are just discovered then forgotten about? Continuous process of monitoring, investigating and researching.

'Not so far fetched' – well, actually it is based on current research (Around 0.007%). The chance isn't zero but it's nowhere near probable either. Sure that may well change over time with more and more studies, but even at 1%, which would be massive news, you'd still be way way off 'not so far fetched'.

Again, I have the feeling that this will not be good enough for you as in my opinion you already have the view that it is in fact a significantly more common side effect and that this is somehow being hidden. I'm yet to see any credible research that suggests that to be the case. If there were, it would make headline news and there would be a class action lawsuit and that would be just for starters. That's a big incentive, and the scientific community along with all sorts of opportunists in the legal community know that – there will be plenty of people studying the data on a daily basis.

myocarditis is also a serious side effect of COVID, btw – more so than the vaccine. Around 10 times more serious. Close to 0.1%. Not 1%, though.

Just like they do with several different vaccines, every single year.

While we are talking percentages. The chances of surviving covid without the vaccine is somthing like 99%.

There is plenty of research from qualified doctors on the side effects of the vaccine. Most are discredited as "conspiracy theorists"

At the end of the day My stance was always get the vaccine if you want. I support you if you do. I would never discourage anyone from having it. But don't force me or anyone else who has decided not to take it regardless of their or our reasons. Surely we have a right to "Bodily autonomy"

Well, yes. What's your point? I've had the Covid jab and the boosters and will get the flu one when it's available. I haven't got anything against vaccination although the Covid was more to be able to go on holiday. I had Covid and, in my own case, flu was much worse.

Yep. It's well documented that it's a known side effect. There is indeed plenty of research. Nothing new on either count there. Figures don't suggest it's anywhere near probable or 'not so far fetched' that every heart attack could be vaccine related, though. But up to you if you want to choose to ignore that, just don't be surprised when you get pushback as a result.

I agree, up to you if you want to take it or not. What I do care about in this instance is that you're appearing to suggest that the risk of myocarditis from the vaccines is high. As outlined above, according to various current and historical research – simply not true. If you choose to use that minuscule percentage chance as a reason not to take it, your choice. Just don't start suggesting the incidence rate is several orders of magnitude higher than it currently is.

As before that may change over time, but even then it would take a 100 fold increase in cases per study to get anywhere near to 1%. Not impossible, but certainly not probable.

Also there's a similar argument to be made about dissuading based on misrepresentation or out and out falsehoods as there is forcing others to take it. Not saying you're the worst offender, but it's worth mentioning.

My point is, in a thread heavily dominated by COVID vaccine sceptics (being diplomatic), that there is a need for some balance in reply to that post.

Since the first jab was in March 2021 and the autumn booster is only available in special cases or for those over 65 it's hard to see who benefits from that balance.

Yes they should read your article. Then they should laugh at the conjecture, lack of any points or evidence. Plus how many times the words anti vaxxer is mentioned.

Incidentally the film safe and effective was produced by Mark sharman. Former BSkyB boss and itv exec

Not quite sure where you got the well known anti vax stuff from. Maybe check out wiki. Lol

On the contrary! The analysis is an objective, fair, balanced and unemotional appraisal of the way subjects like this one are handled. I am perfectly happy for people to read it and reach their own conclusions. Unlike yourself who reached them before reading a word.

Who produced it is unimportant. Professional film makers work for money and even some who previously worked for respectable employers can privately hold wierd ideas.

If you don’t think the anti-vax stuff is well known you need to get out more.

Watch this Netflix series called painkillers based on the true story of the Oxycontin scandal. If you don't like drama there are several documentaries about the same subject.

The uncomfortable truth is that the FDA and bigPharma are in bed together.

Yeadon is a well known anti-vaccine activist and conspiracy theorist. The “Expose” is a magazine known for publishing misinformation about Covid 19.

So an article of this type is hardly a surprise. It’s new so peer reviews of the claims don’t seem to yet be available but from my own unscientific reading it appears a very far fetched scenario which has no logic behind it. Other than conspiracy theories about Fauci, Gates etc etc. No doubt there will be some objective analyses available soon that will reveal more.

Conspiracy theories? This is the first time they've been mentioned. This is unwelcome news. Most unwelcome.
