These questions are not relevant.

This is not some historical study about who went where and when. This is about the here and now and the self interest of White British people whose ancestors, by the way, have been here for thousands of years and are likely to see their genetic heritage disappear in a few generations.
It's not just about some sentimental notion of continuity. It will have real world effects on our future generations, whether they realise why or not.

Trust you to introduce skin colour into the discussion. As you always seem to do.

What does it matter what colour a person's skin turns out to be? The important thing is how they behave and think.

Our "genetic heritage" is a completely made-up concept. There is no such thing. Who we are has always been subject to change. The difference today is only the pace of change and, like everything else, that is happening ever faster.

For sure it will have impacts on future generations. It always has done. They won't notice because for them it will be normal, just as yesterday's was for you. Why should you worry? You won't
be here to see it. Try doing something about things that actually matter. Like climate change.

Most in the real world would understand perfectly well.

A 'challenge' is trying to get an appointment with your GP or solve a Wordle. Yet you use it in association with child-rape and terrorism.

What you should ask is why we are expected to respect the heritage of other so called indigenous people while we are not afforded the same privilege.

No one is indigenous to anywhere unless they are African.

This seems to be of little concern to so called Native Americans, Australian Aboriginals or numerous others who play the indigenous card all the time.

Perhaps you will tell me that it's because they are now a small minority in their homelands which they had taken from them.

White people are a small minority on planet Earth and will soon be a minority in Britain within a few generations. Our country is quietly being taken away from us without a shot being fired.

How few of us will there have to be before you and people like you think that we deserve to be called 'indigenous' and have our heritage protected?

I suspect that you actually care more about the current minority of immigrants than your own kind, but sadly, you won't be around when you are in the minority.

A real pity. I'd like you to experience what that will feel like.

There is no such thing as an indigenous population in the UK. We are all mixed.

There is no such thing as a white people. There are people in various countries, with a variety of heritages, whose skin tones are predominantly pale. The depth of such tones varies dependent on how much exposure to the sun they receive.

What it means to be British has been the subject of constant change. Not so long ago everyone in the Commonwealth could regard themselves as British.

You can call yourself whatever you like. It doesn't change anything at all. Your great-grandchildren won't care. They will no doubt regard Chicken Tikka Masala and Kebabs as standard British food, as many youngsters do already, and wonder why on earth the pictures their Mum shows them of the old man she called grandad was eating greasy Fish & Chips.

You are getting wound up by your own prejudices and not by any genuine care for the future.

I knew you didn't understand.

I said things like child-rape are abhorrent violent crimes.

I also said that immigration and multiculturalism bring challenges.

Both statements are true. We need to be ruthless in dealing the first and determined to overcome the second.

This is the UN definition of an indigenous population

•Self- identification as indigenous peoples at the individual level and accepted by the community as their
member.
• Historical continuity with pre-colonial and/or pre-settler societies
• Strong link to territories and surrounding natural resources
• Distinct social, economic or political systems
• Distinct language, culture and beliefs
• Form non-dominant groups of society
• Resolve to maintain and reproduce their ancestral environments and systems as distinctive peoples and
communities.

Well it appears that there is a recognisable identity for Irish, Scottish and Welsh people but English people are just mongrel mixes but I did mean culturally.
As has been mentioned before have a walk around east London.

A recognisable cultural identity exists for sure. It can though be absorbed by incomers and treasured and honoured by them.

Cornwall has a cultural identity too. On Saturday I will attend the Falmouth Shanty Festival. Think Fishermans Friends in many pubs, lots of beer and hearty singing. I will be there with two Cornishmen, one of whom wrote "Cornwall My Home", which has become something of the local anthem. Not heard it? Do, it's great. I wasn't born here, but I am now of here, and accepted as such by all my Cornish friends.

We'll have those East Londoners eating pie and mash and jellied eels in no time.

Do those exist in Britain? My opinion in bold.

OK, great. We'll go on respecting every culture whilst our own is denied.

No,thanks. During my last visit to Cornwall I found the locals to be intolerant and racist.

It does seem strange this 'indigenous' thing.

Maybe those of us living in England should go back to France and Northern Europe and give the land back to the celts living in wales!

The Americans/Canadians/Brazilians/Argentinians etc etc should buggger off back to where they came from and give the land back to the Indians/Inca's/Aztecs.

If we go back far enough we were all black. Our skin tone whitened to absorb vitamin D.

So basically, I'm black and I'm proud!

Although, i'm actually part Scottish, part French, part German, but born in South London.

Our genetic heritage is a completely made-up concept everywhere except in Cornwall where it is to be cherished.

You try telling someone from Scotland, Wales, N Ireland or Cornwall to respect the culture in say Liverpool and I think you would be asked, what culture and that they like having wheels on their car.

There is no British culture. We have a variety of cultures. Some quite new, but all are interesting and valuable.
