Tactically superb today. To pull out the last two performances with our injury list is fantastic. The team is remarkably well drilled and all credit has to go to Roy for that.

It was a tough watch today but there was no way we could go toe to toe with City for 90 mins. They’d have torn us apart. Kept it tight and stayed in the game and rolled the dice at the end and come away with a valuable and hard earned point.

Ozoh looked like a seasoned pro, Franca made a big impact and Mateta showed us that he’s actually got decent feet. Delighted to have Henderson and Eze back too. A lot of positives to take from that. Perhaps we’ve got more depth than we thought. Bring in the Weed.

Unfortunately the young attackers will not get any patient tuition unless it’s from Paddy. Roy has twice admitted that he does not coach the forwards and this has been recently been confirmed by Andros Townsend. This is one of the reasons why we don’t score many goals.

All managers delegate. But Roy is a hands on manager, and whoever does the close work with any forward Roy says exactly what he wants to develop, ask Eze. He is very clear on the matter. It’s Roy that give each player match instruction, but only when he knows they can do what he wants. We don’t score many goals because our mid field is not a good enough engine to create that many., and that’s when our best forward players are even on the field.
Only short cameo s today and it’s clear the young players have improved by quite a bit, not enough to use for ninety minutes but vastly improved .
At the time of the Spurs match, Francas problem was he was as green as grass, a headless chicken, he certainly could play but almost certainly trying to hard to justify the hype, , if anyone was bothered to watch his under twenty one outings, he had tricks but not disciplined enough , he couldn’t play in the Premier like that .
It looks like he will do and this season maybe, but it’s still early days, the early days bit applies to all the young players in the squad.Full marks to Roy, getting him right before throwing him a challenge like todays.

I find it extraordinary that a manager can avoid the holistic nature of the game and coach a side of 11 players in only one aspect of the totality of the game.
Our lowly position is no surprise, goals win games yet only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored less, unsurprisingly reflected in their league position, just as the teams above us have scored more goals and won more games.
Brighton, our next opponents, have score 33 thus far and have a goal difference of +3, we on the other hand have scored 17 and have a goal difference of -8. The difference in vision of how the game should be played is telling, they are 9 points ahead of us and also playing in Europe this season.

It’s old school football vs new and I’m afraid a lot of posters on here just don’t get it. They are as old and grumpy as Roy himself.

Yes definitely. I'm afraid one cannot escape the statistics and despite our rather fortunate but very welcome point against City we have in fact accrued just 2 points from our last 6 games. only Forest have done worse with just 1 point, and Luton, Burnley, and Sheff Utd have actually won a game in that period. I find it extraordinary that some folks defend Hodgson's negative approach and describe him as some tactical genius, just for sticking every player behind the ball, ceding possession, and rarely venturing forward. The league table doesn't lie.
Perhaps is because it's because he's from Croydon.

There are strong emerging stories that Nuno is about to replace Cooper at Forest.
In recent weeks Cooper has been heavily linked with Palace.
Perhaps it’s putting together 2 and 2 and coming up with 5, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Cooper is our next manager.

Surely,we have more ambition than appointing Cooper ??

Trouble is a lot of posters don’t get that with our finances or lack of them and the squad we’ve got or lack of, especially with injuries, new school football could get us relegated
