Sorry, but outside of all the problems with the ownership and hierarchy at the club, Roy deserves to go because of the tactics.

I've just posted this in answer to Lanzo's question as to whether we expect Roy to be in charge of the next game and whether we will make any signings of any kind this window.

It seems to me that his arrogance is increaingly showing through in his public statements and answers to questions.

The board may be a big part of the problem, but you can't change that over night. You can change the manager.

Roy no longer makes us hard to beat, but sets up to make it hard for us to win. We've won two games in the last 15. One against a Burnley team who had lost every single game at home prior to playing us and Brentford's B team who had lost the previous five games, with Olise's outstanding performance masking what was not actually that good a performance.

This season I would argue we've only seen Roy's tactics really work against City and United. Other than that we've either been a bit fortunate or we've lost. Olise and Eze have masked a lack of offensive tactics and the loss of Doucoure has meant the park the bus routine hasn't worked. Roy has struggled to adapt to the injuries and instead has doubled down on tactics that have frustrated the fans and increasingly it seems the players too. For all Vieira's failings I never saw the team throw in the towel like they did in the last 10 minutes yesterday.

I felt really sorry for Roy yesterday, but it was more pity than any belief he's been treated unfairly. He is sucking all life out of the club and things need to change.

Whenever we experience a poor run the kind of comments to be read in this thread get written. I am so glad supporters don’t run our football club.

We aren’t Arsenal, or any other club you care to mention. We are Palace. A club I have supported for 70 years so am able to put a couple of bad months into their proper context. We nearly went out of business but since then have managed the longest run in the world’s best league in our history. Which includes a spell in the 4th Division.

We are trying to modernise an old stadium and have established a wonderful academy to tap the local potential. We are not at risk of points deductions because of over spending and are directed by a devoted fan and managed by a very experienced, unflappable and hugely respected senior figure in world football.

That Director hasn’t got buckets of free cash to chuck at problems. The manager knows that and is doing what is pragmatic in difficult circumstances. If between them they believe another direction will likely yield a better chance of survival then a change might be made. If they can find someone capable of working in these circumstances.

Criticism is a cheap and abundant commodity. Cool heads and common sense in a crisis less so. Whatever is decided we need to show respect and support. That’s our role. I wonder how the players are reacting to the criticism but I cannot imagine it helping them.

Yes, thanks for letting us know we're all stupid. It's not like the team is playing dog poo in front of our own eyes. Cool heads would and will sack Roy when they analyse the performances. That's the life of a football manager. Roy knows it too.
