I think we are seeing the green shoots of what Glasner wants to implement. I think for him to be successful will require a turnover of players in the summer.

While Mitchell and Eze have been singled out as having problems in Glasners system, my thoughts are that it takes some players longer than others to adjust. And I think that's very much the case with Mitchell. Although he's never been the type to take players on. As for Eze, he's not up to speed yet following his recent injury. It seems to take him a while to get into his rhythm so I'll reserve judgement on him at this time.

Mitchell looks decidedly uncomfortable when he receives the ball in the final third.
He stops, checks and his first thought is to pass backwards.
Whoever is playing in that position really needs to bomb on and either whip in crosses or play a one two with a teammate with a view to hitting the byline.
I'm unconvinced Mitchell has the required skillset, but hope that I'm wrong.
If we buy a pacy left sided forward it may be less of an issue as we would then carry more of a threat from the left.
I have a feeling the team will look quite different next season.

Basically, its work in progress, there maybe more improvement after 3 weeks training. Next season will be the test.

This is strange one because Mitchell was a winger before.

It could be he is one of those players who can only play one role either defend or attack and doesn't have the brain to read the game.

I find he is not that quick either.

ANother issue is he looks like he has hit his limit fitness wise it happens not everyone can increase (every game if you watch him around 60-65m on wards he struggles)

100% need a left back even if it's for cover it's another area which should have been addressed a long time ago.

The football is much better. More chances they just need to be converted. Set piece work seems better as well. I like the new formation.

Agree with a lot of this, but surely Glasner is not that one dimensional. He seems really contemporary to me.
The top managers have various plans and formations up their sleeves which they are constantly changing. Obviously to do this you need a big squad of talent, which most of the top teams have.
Watch Liverpool and Man City in an hour or so to see the latest thinking by two of the top managers in the world.
Once Glasner has become fluent with the premier way, and adjusted our squad to suit his thinking, we will jump upwards significantly.
Not sure where we are with the board, but some of what Textor said sounded pretty positive. I could see us cashing in on a couple of our top players this summer, along with 3 or 4 of our average ones and letting another 2 or 3 go.
This would give us a fighting fund of say 150 million which will be plenty for a clever reconstruction if the board like what Glasner is about.
Ita all a bit of a risk, but what isn't in football......or life?
