Dele Adebola
Coventry City have completed the signing of DELE ADEBOLA on a Bosman.
ADEBOLA who was only on a one year deal with Palace, spoke to a number of clubs last week about a possible move away from South London and decided on a two year deal with the Midlands club.
Speaking today about the deal, he said: "I can't wait to get started and working with the other lads
"Hopefully I can help Coventry make a sustained bid for promotion next season."
"Other people were in for me, but Coventry are a big club and Gary McAllister sold it to me so I'm very excited about coming here."
City's chief executive Graham Hover was equally delighted about the deal.
"We are delighted to have signed DELE who is a terrific player with a reputation for scoring goals at this level," he said.
"He's a big powerful attacker and Gary McAllister sees him as an integral part of next season's campaign.
"He joins us on a Bosman free transfer and we believe he is an important piece in the jigsaw.", he added.
Palace fans have had mix reactions to the big Nigerian since he was brought to the club by ex-boss Trevor Francis.
His style of play often frustrated a section of fans, but his commitment was always at 100 percent.
Steve Kember will now have ensure that he replaces Abebola with a strong front man, to ensure that Palace have a good chance next season.
