Sam Togwell has joined League Two Northampton Town for a one-month loan.
The 20-year-old defender rejected a loan move to Norwegian club Viking Stavanger last week but Northampton snapped him up before the transfer deadline.
Togwell has been a regular in Palace's reserve side and had been on loan at Oxford earlier in the season.
"Sam is someone who stood out when I saw him play," said Northampton manager Colin Calderwood. "He is someone who is a real good defender and he reads the game well.
"He is 6ft tall and he is full of aggression and determination. He is someone who Crystal Palace and Iain Dowie rate very highly and I would like to thank them for their assistance in allowing this loan to happen."
