Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock hopes Ben Watson can commit his future to the club.
Watson was handed a rare start and scored a fine free-kick in Saturday's 2-0 home win over Swansea.
Nick Carle added another as the Eagles clinched their first league victory of the campaign with wantaway midfielder Watson set to get a run in the side after impressing his boss.
Warnock said: "I have no problem with Ben (Watson), especially when he scores goals like that. One or two of his acquaintances I have a problem with, but never with him.
"His future is hopefully playing at Wolves on Tuesday. I don't look much beyond that, to be honest, because we're playing for my future as much as his.
"It will be interesting to see who leaves first, if we don't win any more games. He can have a contract tomorrow but he doesn't want one so what can you do?"
Swans boss Roberto Martinez said: "We can take a lot of positives out of the game, but it was a disappointing result.
"We controlled the game for spells in the second-half and that reaction was positive.
"The problem we had was that we allowed the goals to affect us in a way I haven't seen before."
