Crystal Palace keeper Scott Flinders has joined Hartlepool United.
Flinders was released by manager Neil Warnock at the end of the campaign after a disappointing tenure with the Eagles.
The 23-year-old failed to make an impact when called into the first team, going out on loan to Falkirk last season and had previous spells on loan at Gillingham, Brighton and Blackpool.
After Peter Taylor bought him for £1million from Barnsley in July 2006, Flinders conceded 23 goals in 13 appearances and kept one clean sheet.
Hartlepool manager Chris Turner said: "I am delighted that we have signed a goalkeeper with tremendous potential, which was obviously shown during his time at Barnsley when Crystal Palace paid a large fee for him.
"He has also represented his country at Under 20 level and we have been trying to get him for most of the summer. I'm delighted we have got our man.
"We have brought Scott in to our number one keeper for next season. I am just delighted to have got a keeper of Scott's quality into the Club."
