Crystal Palace midfielder Jose Campana has signed for Sampdoria.

The 21-year-old Spaniard flew out to Italy at the weekend to carry out the medical and paperwork needed to complete the deal.

He signed a four-year deal at Palace last summer and Eagles fans were expecting great things of the former Spanish U21 international.

However Campana struggled to settle in South London and only played in six games under the management of Ian Holloway.

His last game for the club came in the 4-1 defeat to Fulham in October.

He was then loaned out to Nuremberg in Germany in February 2014, where he featured in 10 games and scored one goal.
