just heard the Simon Jordan interview on Sky Sports. And he alluded to his having lost faith in Pardew by the end of last season.

- January to May , our league performance was abysmal

- Our inability to hold onto a lead at Wembley for more than a few nanoseconds.

- Our failure to get a good performance from players who have previously proven themselves to be mustard.

- Our signing of underperformers

- Pardew's record of poor runs of form with other clubs.

- Murray and Gayle are now pulling up trees in the Championship.

- Our total lack of goals last season, our total lack of defence this season.

Personally, i wouldn't have minded if Pardew had left us in June. For the record...i had lost confidence too by June. The club is bigger than any one person.
discuss.

With hindsight of course

But no, he had done enough to deserve a chance to turn it around.

And if we had got a new manager in and were struggling then many would be saying 'what the fvck did we do sacking Pardew? He got us to a cup final and 10th in The Prem'

Not if it means we would not have successfully signed Benteke.

If we get some guys healthy in January it should be easy for a manager to get Palace ticking over, as long as we have Benteke and Zaha.

In hindsight should have sacked Pardew in Summer. Then we could have recruited a young progressive manager and given him time to succeed. Now we are in a position where only an experienced war-dog could get us out of the mess we're in.

Murray saved Palace almost single handed when Pardew first joined. After no goals got injured he had to play him and his goals earned the points that drew us clear of the relegation dogfight.

As for DG, he was top scorer each season he was her I think?

Yes, right after the FA cup final. The second half of last season was a warning. What other manager in the land would have got away with that dire effort?
