Butland has played all the cup games , apart from the f*ck up at millwall he’s done well.

For the sake of team morale and good man-management Butland must play. He's a fine keeper and will do us proud, but I'm a huge Guaita fan.

This is a must-win game and Guaita is the better goalkeeper. Sub on Butland when we are 4-0 up with 5 minutes to play. Rinse and repeat in the Final

Whoever is performing best in training and who the defenders say they are more comfortable having behind them. The other can get Leicester away.

Funny thing, I was just pondering this very issue earlier. Both are fine keepers, but each has weaknesses. Either would do us proud at Wembley and I'm tending to favour Butland for the semi as he's kept goal in our Cup run so far. But then, what about the final? Would be harsh not to give Guaita that one, but what does that say to Butland? Who'd be a football manager eh?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

It's a squad game and we should go with our strongest 11 given the enormity and occasion. Guaita is first choice which is why he plays the league games. He should play vs Chelsea. We've played lesser opposition in every round, so at the time it was a calculated risk to play second choice Butland whilst giving him match practice to keep sharp. Butland has done well, but he's also a professional and knows the score.

Personally I don’t think there is much to choose between them both so would have no issue if Butland started.

Butland should play and VG is worthy of the no 1 shirt.

Viera is an honest coach and he's fair... I can see Butland keeping a well deserved spot. However, Butland is professional enough to accept the decision that VG is the club #1... Although....... VG art his age, isn't the future for palace... Having said that, is Rutland ripe to take the #1 spot But..... if you change it up and VG makes a flap, that bad karma?? Then again..... Vg could play a blinder... suppose Butland cracks? As you can see, it's all if's and buts.. Personally I would hope VG plays a blinder at Leicester, then gets the call for the SF and takes that into it.
